15.01.2022 The use of driverless trucks at sites such as the Carmichael Coal Mine will be another tough blow for workers in an industry thats already facing significant job losses. The good news? While the mining boom is at its end, Australias construction & transport industries are forecast to grow significantly over the next few years. Now is the perfect time to reskill or upskill to gain employment in these growing industries and stay ahead of the pack!

01.01.2022 At AITAC & Your Licence Pty Ltd, we want our training and assessment to be conducted in a way that encourages all of our learners to participate and successfully complete their training. Recently we had the opportunity to talk to Emma at our training facility in Tullamarine, Melbourne. We asked Emma about her decision to be trained and assessed for a Forklift Licence and what she thought about career opportunities for women with this qualification. Emma is a young woman curr...ently employed in a completely unrelated field to Warehousing and Distribution, which is where she has decided she wants to pursue a career. She arrived for her two intensive days of training with no previous experience driving a forklift. Driving the forklifts on the course was the most enjoyable part to me Emma told us. I learn things best when I can practice on the job so this course was really good for me in that respect. She went on to say that the trainer was really helpful and explained everything fully so it was easy to understand. We also asked Emma if she thought this was a good career choice for women - Yes of course! With flexible working hours, good pay and manual work to help keep active, its a great choice for women. Women like manual jobs too she said. Having a forklift driving licence will really help when Im applying for jobs Emma added. Emma successfully completed her training and assessment and obtained her licence to drive a Forklift. We wish her every success in her career in warehousing and distribution, and hope Emmas story encourages more women to consider Forklift driving for employment opportunities.
