Let Mrs. Talker know that you would like to give her the attention she deserves, but you cannot do so just before the start of school. ... 2. Give the parent several options of times when you can both meet, then set aside time for the meeting (online / offline). ... Action Plan: 1. Explain that you assign only enough homework and show them benefits of homework. 2. This keeps the parent informed and helps the student organize his / her time, which creates routine for sharing what he has learned during school hours with his / her parent. 3. Develop a plan that will assist the child in improving his / her skills through completing homework. 4. Offer to cooperate with the parent to create a homework-reward schedule so the activities the child has to do at home get done in a timely fashion and he /she has free 'fun' time. ' ... Action Plan: 1. Listen, without interruption. 2. Do not allow the parent's reaction affect you. 3. Show / explain what you have witnessed in class. 4.
