01.01.2022 The push for more use of injectable buprenorphine is relentless and yes it should be available for those who choose it but Dougie is clearly ambivalent regarding his drug use or he wouldn't need a chemical blockade. Methadone is perfectly suitable and works for those who do not want to use illicit drugs. Putting a block in the body for months doesn't indicate any understanding of drug use and substitution programs. We go on them as we cant keep up the exhausting life of street drug use its not the drug we want but its the one we get so people use their drug of choice occasionally. All this would disappear if heroin was provided to people who prefer to use it. This relentless hunt to find a drug that requires as little time as possible from the doctor and chemist and has the highest blocking ability for the person
