21.01.2022 The AJ Grant Building WA team, passing by "Red Dog" on the way to Karratha after severe tropical Cyclone Damien. On the afternoon on 8th February 2020 severe tropical cyclone Damien made landfall as a category 3 tropical cyclone, with the eye moving directly over Karratha. Karratha Airport recorded the highest wind gust of 194km/h at 2:31pm AWST 8 February. The storm brought with it widespread damage and flooding to the town of Karratha, leaving a trail of destruction. Long a...fter the storm, and often the media have moved on, the repair work continues in order to lift towns like Karratha back onto their feet. AJ Grant Building has been supporting our insurance clients in this region through assessment and repair works. 20.01.2022 Following a devastating house fire, this home requires demolition and safe asbestos removal then disposal of all debris meeting Council and legislative requirements. The plumbing was disconnected and capped off. As the asbestos has been heat affected it is treated as friable and requires specialist contractors and removal process including hen-peck loose pieces and air monitoring. Asbestos clearance certificate is obtained at the completion of works to ensure the site is fu...lly cleaned up and no contaminates remain. This is the first step in building a new home for the owner. The customer requested for the trees to be trimmed back that were blocking the school sign and a solution to landscaping the garden as the soil wouldn't allow anything to grow including grass.
