19.01.2022 A huge congratulations to the winners of the AALN 2020 Mooting Competition - Zoe Newport and Lola Popoola! Congratulations to the runners-up - Devin Elliott and... James Langoya. Both teams did a fantastic job and we have no doubt that the future of advocacy is bright! Congratulations to Zoe Newport, who was awarded Best Speaker! Our Grand Finalists were coached by barristers Jonathan Barrington and Rachel Amamoo. Thank you to our esteemed judges - The Honourable Justice Maxwell, President of the Court of Appeal and The Honourable Justice Forbes of the Supreme Court of Victoria. We would also like to thank our official competition sponsor, Arnold Bloch Leibler, in particular Peter Seidel, for continually supporting the AALN! 17.01.2022 Our Director Daniel Ajak recently received an inaugural alumni award Flinders University for his significant contribution to the African-Australian community in Australia, including the development of professional networks and advocacy for African-Australian legal students.

14.01.2022 We welcome two new legal assistants, Awuoi & Jeanette to Ajak & Tut lawyers. Both are soon to be admitted as lawyers. We are excited to have them in the team and we look forward to building a solid reputable firm together. Our firm seeks two junior criminal lawyers to join our team. Your duties will include: Appearing as an advocate, caseload management and providing legal advice/information to a range of clients in the areas of family violence, criminal law, and other areas as directed. Regularly attending and appearing in the Magistrates' Court, Children's Court, therapeutic courts and as directed, appearing in County Court Appeal matters. Liaising with other legal representatives and court staff. Working with counsel where required in the management of more complex cases dealt with at the County Court and other jurisdictions. Other duties as directed. As the successful applicant, you will have: At least one year’s experience in criminal law Admission to practice as an Australian Lawyer A high level of resilience and emotional intelligence.
