08.01.2022 Attention Farmers > Christmas has come early There is nutrient rich soil available right here in Mackay, to help you produce bumper crops. AJK Contracting, wh...o won council's Biosolids and Green Waste contract last year, have finished creating Humisoil, a nutrient rich soil for local agricultural use. The soil contains biosolids from council's wastewater treatment plants and green waste from council's transfer stations and is a first for Queensland. Not only is it beneficial for local farmers, it also provides economic and environmental benefits for our region as well. Council will save over $600,000 in the first 12 months of the biosolids and green waste contract by using the same contractor. And the use of nutrient rich soil means a reduction in fertiliser and water. #Localproduct #FirstinQLD #Reusingwaste
