14.01.2022 In progress now: the 2020 Animal Justice Party Conference focussing on Politics Matters #ajpnatcon2020 Be in it for your chance to win from a pool of $4500 prizes https://www.raffletix.com.au/?ref=rk5xd... ‘The Animal Justice Party actively campaigns at a government policy level against animal cruelty atrocities relating to wildlife destruction; factory farming; animal transportation; companion and domestic animals, and the use of animals for sport and entertainment. We advocate the toughening of animal protection laws; an increase in penalties for convicted animal abusers; the regulation and restriction in the sale and use of companion animals, and to enhance education in greater awareness and appreciation of the needs of animals. We believe that through the formation of the Animal Justice Party, and with the support of the many like-minded, concerned animal lovers (and voters) throughout Australia, real and urgent changes to the way in which animals are treated can be made.’

14.01.2022 Assured destruction if this bill goes ahead in addition to the bill that has already being passed. Imagine being given the go ahead to destroy Koalas and their habitat because you wish to clear more land.

12.01.2022 Animal abuse and violence against animals are serious crimes and these crimes must be harshly dealt with. The AJP are doing all within their power to ensure increased penalties through legislation.

08.01.2022 Bring on a kind and equitable future for all animals!

04.01.2022 Today is the first day of NAIDOC week and so we were guided by the 40,000+ years of history of caring for the land by first Nations - the people from the Guringai Language group in Dee Why. We collected plastics, styrofoam, cigarette butts, straws, glass, and lolly wrappers among a myriad of other cast aside items with the intention of removing as much as we could find in a short space of time to save marine animal and bird lives. It is imperative that we reduce what is... pouring into our oceans which is contributing to the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Read more here: https://theoceancleanup.com/great-pacific-garbage-patch/ Ultimately, it is change that we make to our own behaviour that will have the biggest impact. Reusable cups and utensils, bamboo toothbrushes, saying no to excess plastic, picking up rubbish at every opportunity and always taking 3 for the sea... Visit https://www.facebook.com/ZeroWCommunity for ideas on how you can lessen your own rubbish production. Thank you to members from the Animal Justice Party NSW for cleaning up a small area of our beautiful country. And what deliciously clean food there is at Bare Naked Bowls

03.01.2022 'The Nationals’ anti-koala bill was stopped by Liberal MP Catherine Cusack who gave a passionate speech about saving koalas from extinction in NSW. She joined with Labor, the Greens, Justin Field and the Animal Justice party to refer the Bill to a committee. Thank you all and congratulations: we could not have come this far without your phone calls, emails, social media posts and talk back radio calls. Not to mention everyone who turned up to koala rallies across NSW a fortni...ght ago' -Nature Conservation Council 'Despite the NSW Coalition Government's attempt to slip the "Koala Kill Bill" through the Upper House tonight, the bill was blocked with the help of the Liberals' own Catherine Cusack, who crossed the floor with extreme courage and conviction. The bill has been sent to committee for inquiry - the vote was close at 19-18. As I said in my speech tonight, I acknowledge the extraordinary courage and insight that Catherine Cusack brought to the house today - what she has done is an example of the courage and the commitment she is making to the people of NSW who have spoken up loudly and clearly on koalas. I'm thankful my voice held out to speak on this bill tonight. From my speech: "The only thing missing from this bill to finish off koalas is for the government to offer free chainsaws to every landholder and tell them to go for it. This bill is the final nail in the coffin for NSW koalas. So what are the members of this house, who are going to vote for this bill, what are you going to say to your grandchildren? What are you going to say to your children - that's how urgent it is - when they ask you what's happened to the koalas? Are you going to tell them you killed them? Are you going to tell them you knowingly participated in killing them? The world is watching." And the world will be watching - throughout the inquiry process and beyond. This isn't over.' - Mark Pearson

01.01.2022 The 47 year old Dee Why man who was fined this week for allowing his French Bulldog to attack a rare Australian fur seal in Long Reef Marine Reserve serves as a reminder that prosecutions are needed to ensure people with animals take their responsibilities seriously. Humans must also maintain 40 metres distance from seals on land or risk a fine of up to $3300. People are urged to report sick, injured or distressed seals to NPWS on 13000 PARKS (1300 072 757) or ORRCA on (02) ...9415 3333. https://www.northernbeachesreview.com.au//dog-owner-fined/ https://www.news.com.au///6738ee92c51c0f27219fbcfdbdf528ac
