12.01.2022 Cowra Breakout 76th Anniversary Commemorations COVID-19 restrictions saw a reduced format of the annual breakout commemorations held in Cowra this morning. ...Small wreath laying ceremonies were held to mark the 76th anniversary of the Cowra Prisoner of War Breakout. The World Peace Bell was also rung at midday to honour the Australian and Japanese soldiers who died during the breakout on the 5th of August 1944. See more
