22.01.2022 We’ve been wondering why our silkies haven’t been laying as much this week. It appears they decided to take their egg laying into their hutch that our staff can’t access easily. Luckily for us, our students are the perfect size to check!

21.01.2022 With the school holidays starting this weekend, this week’s Ajuga Assembly focused on how to stay healthy over the school holidays. Here are a few (but not all!) of the slides.

21.01.2022 After discussing the illustrations within The Little Refugee by Ahn Do and Suzanne Do, students in Wattle class focused on the colours used in the text and how they allow the reader to connect with the different emotions that the characters are feeling. They then chose to illustrate different emotions in colour.

20.01.2022 Ajuga School will be celebrating book week this year between 17-23 October with a plethora of activities including our annual book parade. The theme is Curious Creatures, Wild Minds. 19.01.2022 At this week’s assembly we focused on the Birds of Ajuga! Our site boasts quite an array of natives that visit our school (some even call it home!) each day. The magpie lark is currently quite busy preparing its nest, and wood ducks have appeared this season. Here are a small sample of the slides presented this week.

15.01.2022 Gardening cultivates the attribute of patience. Earlier this year we planted potatoes in our garden. They were harvested on Friday and turned into home-made hash browns with poached eggs. Authentic garden to plate deliciousness!

14.01.2022 A huge THANK YOU to Claire and the team at Twenty10 for leading our staff Transgender and Gender Diversity training yesterday. As an inclusive setting of diverse staff and students, our learning will help us to be better allies and support for our students and wider team.

12.01.2022 So you asked r u ok? .... what’s next? The first step is asking the question, but what follows is key to linking in support. R U OK Day

10.01.2022 Our student leadership team organised an incredible cake stall today with our classes each contributing delights. Last count was $98 raised for R U OK Day with a final tally on the cards for tomorrow

09.01.2022 This week’s assembly focus was how is my body feeling?. Throughout the week, classes will be looking at how our body reacts to different emotions / feelings and the strategies we can put in place to support us. We will be talking a lot about our own super power - breathing!

08.01.2022 Sometimes a trip to the Principal’s Office (well, most of the time at Ajuga) can be a whole lot of fun. Today one of our Wattle students got to try out the new Super Mario Lego set with Leah. He had to problem solve how to set up the circuit and collect virtual coins. He would like to come back to Leah’s office to build the Mario course again!

07.01.2022 Today was the last get together for parents/carers of our Connect:ed group for Term 3. Thank you to Belinda for sharing her origami skills walking us through how to make a crane. Some of us shone while others not so much. We had lots of laughs throughout this activity. To top it off everyone just started randomly naming the character strengths used for this activity. The last 10 weeks have obviously had a positive impact talking about our strengths and how we use them in ou...r day to day lives. I wish you all a happy and safe holidays and will see you all in the first week of Term 4. You will all be receiving our term4 calendar shortly.
