24.01.2022 REVIEW Have you ever just looked at a book, not knowing anything about the author at all and had this feeling pass over you that it was going to be one the greatest reads you had ever come across; for me 'A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet ' is one of those books. The cover drew me in, the blurb kept me intrigued and the first page had me hooked, I could not get enough. The story was imaginative brilliance, a mix of mythological tales and fantasy with just... the right amount of reality to make it a place and time easy to follow, understand and want to be apart of. The characters were original, with the perfect amount of detail into their history's, personalities and interests, to draw up an image of who they are. Not one piece of information was too much, nor did it feel as if anything were missing. I found my emotions became tied to the characters and the story, both full of so many different feelings that I often went between smiling and frowning as an effect. If you're not a fan of fantasy, this book might just make you one and if you are, you will fall even more in love with the genre. 5 massive s out of five I will certainly be looking forward to reading more by this author Amanda http://amzn.to/2aO5HhE
