21.01.2022 This photo has been on my mind since I took it. #takemeback This was our recent holiday to Newcastle, which feels like a lifetime ago. Cannot wait to start our new adventures, so please follow facebook.com/theadventurewoofpack or our insta: the_adventure_woofpack... You all know I love a good fantasy-style landscape session. What you may not know is that a lot of the fantasy effect is achieved in camera through use of creative settings or lens filters. Here is one that was never going to be a fantasy photo, and was one of the photos from Newcastle that I don't have the RAW photo of so thank goodness I took the time to get it right in camera first! This is completely unedited <3

20.01.2022 I have the WORST luck on holidays when taking photos. This is the SECOND time my camera has reset and has changed my settings from RAW + Fine photos (highest quality raw images and highest quality jpegs as a back up) to just "normal" jpg. I am trying very hard to breathe; I can't change what has happened, and realistically it's just the hot air ballooning photos I'm disappointed about. But I have some I can use, like this one.... Why does it matter so much? RAW images hold about 96% of data, meaning they can be edited. JPEGs are a low quality, pre-processed image that has a tiny percent of data and means you can't edit them. A lot of people like "natural" photos, but this type of shoot is important for RAW photos because the sun was so bright that I had to underexpose the photos to ensure the sun didn't "blow out" the photo, and so I could pull up the details in the landscape in Photoshop and my other programs. I can't do this on JPEG, which means I won't be able to use a lot of photos :( Guess I'll have to go hot air ballooning again...

17.01.2022 MODEL CALL **UPDATE: MODEL BOOKED*** * Looking for a model over the age of 18 years old to pose for standard headshot and poses. * This is for an assessment I am completing for Diploma of Photo Imaging, therefore you MUST be willing to sign not only my Model Release but also that of the College.... * Great for anyone who wants to update their portfolio or anyone who would like nice photos of themselves. ** This is NOT a paid opportunity. You will receive your edited images from the session for your personal use or portfolio use as a thank you for your time. * Must be available before mid September for a weekend session. Being comfortable in front of a camera is definitely preferred. I will help give you direction for posing, as these are just basic poses (the assessment is to show the difference in portraits between focal lengths) however I will be doing additional photos for you for your time so you have a variety of images. 09.01.2022 Meet "My Tribe." These are just some of the amazing women in the Shoalhaven! They are mums, wives, partners, sisters, individuals.... They are strong women, each with their own goals, paths and obstacles. They are inspirations to our society if you listen to their stories. We have those who have led us, we have our current leaders and we have our future generations all represented in this one image. The Shoalhaven Community is one of the strongest I have come across for women paving the way. I am so proud to know each of these women and so proud to represent them in this image. Feel free to tag the inspirational women in your life <3

This series is using Kelly Robataille's surrealist editing style. Her representation of women is to show their vulnerability that leads them to strength, mine is to show a little bit of magic in these characters.... My Flower Queen is an updated version of my Queen from a year ago.

03.01.2022 Hi Bellas, Following on from this morning's post, I thought I'd share some photographer knowledge with you (as I know a lot of you are avid camera enthusiasts) so here is a learning opportunity for you! Here is the same photo on two different exposures - the first I'd say is over exposed; although the balloons and the scenery look great, the sky itself is a big blob of nothing because the photo is too bright, which is because the sun is directly shining into the camera (and o...n this particular photo, which has been cropped, the sun is literally a big ball of nothing.) Comparing to the photo beside it, which it the photo I had planned to edit in RAW, you can see that the sky is far more defined with better colour in, but at the sacrifice of the scenery. In Photoshop and other Adobe products, I can pull the highlights and brightness up, along with other tweaks and sliders, to bring the detail back out in the balloons and the scenery whilst being able to mask off the sky to ensure the same tweaks don't happen to it. You can save most details from a dark photo (as long as it's not too dark) but it is impossible to save a "blown out" photo because there is absolutely no detail in the white. So if you're learning with your camera in a semi-manual or manual mode, or you're learning to edit, always make sure your photo is a little darker if it's in RAW because you can save it. What happens when I try to save the jpgs is that the detail has been lost, so the dark spots start turning red as I lighten them. Ugh!
