15.01.2022 Today I made the ever delicious dessert, "Rasgulla" . From today onwards, I'm putting up the recipes for my dishes here for you to try and enjoy . "... Swipe to see all the pics: " My Rasgulla Recipe: " Ingredients: Full cream milk - 1 litre Lemon juice - 2 tbsp Saffron for garnishing - 10 to 15 strings " Ingredients for making Sugar syrup: White sugar - 1 cup (I used raw sugar) Water - 4 cups " Method: Bring the milk to a boil, switch off the stove. Add 2 tbsp of lemon juice and leave it for 10 min. Place a thin cloth in a big bowl Drain the water from curdled milk into the thin cloth. Rinse the curdled milk thoroughly with 2-3 glasses of water. This will remove the lemon flavour. Now tie the cloth and squeeze the excess water as much as possible from the curdled milk. Knead the curdled milk to make a smooth dough. Take small portions and roll into balls. Add Sugar and water in a wide pan. Keep stirring in low flame until the sugar dissolves. Now add the balls to the sugar syrup and let it sit for 20 min. Switch off the flame and keep the rasgullas aside for 4 hours. Garnish with Saffron strings and your rasgulla is ready " What is Rasgulla? " " Rasgulla is an Indian syrupy dessert popular in the Indian subcontinent and regions with South Asian diaspora. It is made from ball-shaped dumplings of chhena and semolina dough, cooked in light syrup made of sugar. This is done until the syrup permeates the dumplings. Sourced from Wikipedia. 04.01.2022 A dessert king is always been the Halva. A unique type of dessert is what I've made today with Beetroot, Cardamom, Raw sugar, Ghee (clarified butter) and Ca...shews. It is best when served hot!!! The taste and aroma was so very awesome and yum! . A dessert delight on the festive season's twilight . " " Swipe to see all the pics: " " Photo Credit : @klikzphotography @prattu " " What is Halva? (Sourced from Wikipedia) " " Halva (halawa, alva, haleweh, halava, helava, helva, halwa, halua, aluva, chalva, chawa, halvah[1]) is any of various dense, sweet confections with roots in West Asia (Levant), Central Asia or the Indian subcontinent.[2] It is also served in the Caucasus, North Africa, the Horn of Africa, the Balkans, Eastern and Western Europe, Malta and in the Jewish diaspora. In some Indian cultures, the dish is known as a soup-based sweet. Identical sweets exist in other countries, such as China, though these are not generally referred to as "halva". The first known written halvah recipe appeared in the early 13th century Arabic Kitab al-Tabikh [The Book of Dishes]. In global, popular usage it means "desserts" or "sweet", and describes two types of desserts: Flour-based This type of halva is slightly gelatinous and made from grain flour, typically semolina (suji- India). Its primary ingredients are clarified butter (ghee), flour, and sugar. Nut butter-based This type of halva is crumbly and usually made from tahini (sesame paste) or other nut butters, such as sunflower seed butter. Its primary ingredients are nut butter and sugar. Halva may also be based on various other ingredients, including beans, lentils, and vegetables such as carrots, pumpkins, yams and squashes.[3] Halva can be kept at room temperature with little risk of spoilage. However, during hot summer months, it is better kept refrigerated, as it can turn runny after several days.
