22.01.2022 Hello friends, its been a while! We went on a family holiday down south, which got extended..opps...of coarse we didn't want to leave but as all holidays it must come to an end. And the welcome back home was a mountain of endless chores and errands to run...wooohoooo...not really woooohooo!!! When's the next holiday!! I hope you have all been well! Here's one I was meant to post a while back, yes slap my wrist! Well let me start by saying this coffee table boasts all the mak...ings of a modern yet rustic piece all in one! Coffee tables like this are hard to come by. Yes sir reee! Is that how you spell that? It's unique design has 2 draws that open either end and a generous storage area under which makes it both practical and useful, you could even lash out (why not!) and add some funky baskets to add to the overall look! The colour scheme, ace of spades (which is the fancy pants way of saying charcoal) body with a blend of smoky haze and coal top, lends itself to a more contemporary look which makes the coffee table sing....la,la,la,la,laaaaa As with most AKM Furniture pieces, this table is not without exceptional grain! Exceptional yes...the grain and knots give it a slight rustic appeal, what we love and with the beautiful brushed pewter handles it ties the whole modern, rustic look together, gotta love that! :) Dimensions: 114cm (L) x 68cm (W) x 47cm (H)

20.01.2022 Another AKM Furniture Restoration and what a beauty she is!! An ex-early settlers dinning table that came with a hefty price tag she has now been given a new lease on life. I wish we had the space for her she's simply gorgeous! Grain well there is ample. Its a little industrial in design with bold semi gloss back legs which just pops against the star of the show, the table top! Warm, golden honey, oaky tones offset with the solid black legs just work! This is right on trend.... Quality, solid in design (lets face it early settlers have a name to uphold, no cheap here). So without the price tag this table that is just bursting with character and charm could be yours! Lucky you! I'm jealous! And to add the great thing about it....no one else has one!! 16.01.2022 I ask you, are you struggling to find a genuine timber table that isn't chipboard / laminate or worse still flat pack ??!! Did I hear you say yes?? I thought I did! Well you know what I'm going to say, yes, its your lucky day!!! This has a stunning 50mm Jarrah top, did I say 50mm Jarrah top, yes a 50mm Jarrah top, with all the rustic charm, knots and grain that makes this wood as special as it is! And to add we placed it on a metal frame to change it up a little and finished... it with a rusty weathered charcoal look that totally works to complement the top. Where modern meets rustic! Right on trend!! Yep! This piece has been in our home for the last 3 years however, we now need the space, so over to you my friends, enjoy it as a desk or a table or a studio looking display stand, the choice is yours! 14.01.2022 Another piece to add to the country / hillsy / Mt lawley / Guildfordy style of homes!!! A true statement piece. Unique and elegant in design what more could you want...really!! Ok a holiday on a remote island with someone serving you food and drinks all day would be great! But we've got to tone it down a little...baby steps right! Ok so back to the, what are we calling it...well its so versatile that it can be a cabinet / buffet or TV unit!! That's right! Amber, golden, walnut undertones on a solid top that showcases ample grain!! The colour, Versailles pops against the top and the black handles work in harmony to create a sophisticated piece! It would be the talking point (for all the right reasons) in your home! :) Dimensions: 1200mm (L) x 500mm (W) x 1020mm (H) Price: $400

12.01.2022 Here's a little cutie, well as cute as furniture can get I guess! An awesome addition to any home...a storage box, a toy box, a comfortable seat...you name it...but we've named it 'HOME'. Home sweet home. A nice entrance or hall way piece...is that your home crying for it?...I think I heard it! Beautiful handles that pick up the colour in the HOME art decor'...a beautiful rich, golden, chocolately, maplely top that offsets the semi gloss lovenote white....a match made in heaven really. This box has a pneumatic arm (had to ask Andrew how to spell that or even say that...pneumatic, I think i'll just say it again!).. and a custom made high grade Dunlop foam cushion in a beautiful beige that alone would cost you half the total price of the storage box! Another bargain at hand! :) Price: was $350 NOW $295!!! NOW $280

11.01.2022 Ok, so after every piece Andrew says I would love to keep it...but hey we wouldn't exist if that happened every time, so lets just say I don't get attached...lol...BUT today it happened! Yes! I rescued this piece from the side of the road...I know right!...and now...well I'm a goner! I want it! I really do! But Andrew wont let me keep it! SO its over to you my friends. Seriously beautiful Jarrah, real jarrah, not that imitation stuff...pfft...is there imitation stuff? hmmm Jarrah pretending to be Jarrah?! Is there such a thing? This jarrah packs a punch against the charcoal back...love it!...can I keep it?...oh yeh, that's right I cant! Price: $200

09.01.2022 Ok, so we decided to change this piece up a little. Where rustic meets elegant. This table has it! Not only would it fit right in a hillsy, country modern home but hey beachy homes folk here's staring right at you!!! Its got grain, its got knots, its everything there is to love about wood in a driftwood stain it just pops against the elegant gloss white. Gosh I love this job!! Price $175 - I know its an absolute bargain right!! Early Christmas Special :)

09.01.2022 If only I were a kid again!!! A 1950's desk rescued from Floreat Tafe has been given one huge facelift. Beautiful teak pops against the black gloss bars. Retro is all the rage at the moment but this one has been given modern touches. Seats 3 little munchkins or 2 bigger children. If you like this let me know and I will try and source another and give it the special AKM Furniture touch :) SOLD in 5 days for a steal $200 - no Guildford price tag here

06.01.2022 So finally I got to do a piece for my daughter and I had so much fun with it, I wanted to share it with you, well in case you are looking for something similar . Pink that looks like pink milkshake and gold handles that just...well, pop!...well they don't literally pop, like pop right off, although the little one would just love that! No, instead they just pop against the colour, a much safer option. A gold spice rack, cos lets face it who doesn't want a gold spice rack, ...with spice jars that now contain googly eyes and sparkles and gemstones to inspire the little arty, crafty soul. A gold tin for a bit of a rustic touch (all in the details my friends, details!) and not just decorative, no, but to hold all her favourite pencils and sparkly pens in. 2 big draws and a little 'secret' draw...shhhh, I promise I didn't look in it! I promise! That's where it went!!! Well I just love the desk so I had to buy a new doona cover and pillows and wall picture to give the whole room an overhaul from a baby girl to now a little girls room. If you cant find me anywhere you'll know where I'll be, in my little girls room just taking it all in :) See more

02.01.2022 So here's a piece that's lived in our lounge room for the last 2 and a half years, one of our very first projects. For the jarrah wood lovers this one is for you! As thick as railway sleepers and weighs a tonne, the wood itself would cost you a little fortune. Stripped right back from its former glory we gave it a new lease on life. Dark rich brown/mahogany type of colour...a little rustic and little industrial...knots and grain and indents...bring it on!! Its been given a lot of love, but now its time to bid it farewell and welcome it to its new owner...which could be you?! Price : $200 PS. Yes looks can be deceiving...two people required to lift it...or a crane...no I'm not kidding!
