02.01.2022 Welcome to Ako Earth... an indigenous owned business located in Echuca, Victoria on Yorta Yorta country. My name is Franky Atkinson and as a proud Yorta Yorta man I couldnt be happier to introduce you to my new venture. When drought hit our country 13 years ago I changed occupations from shearing to earthworks & relocated to Melbourne where I worked for my father in laws earthmoving company. It is here that I developed a new passion in earthmoving. Fast forward to now and I... have completely left the shearing behind after many accomplishments in the field here & overseas, and embraced my new passion back in my home town of Echuca. After learning so much from working with a few different great companies in the past I have now decided to go out on my own with the support of my wife & kids, extended family & friends. My first contract being with a large company on a high profile project. This has been in talks for a long time coming and Im stoked to announce it now. I will be doing earthworks for quite a while on our sensitive ground and sand hill as well as playing a part in building a new & long awaited bridge for our town. A job that I will take with so much pride. My logo represents ceremonial ground and digging sticks, something we found fitting when taking into consideration our first contract.
