23.01.2022 Well another birthing season is not far away. Animals have been shorn, now we sit and wait for the new arrivals. My favorite time of year. As we wait I reflect on last years births, we had a total of 19 cria, 6 boys and 13 girls, a fantastic year. With our numbers growing we have decided to put 5 of the junior girls up for sale. We have a med fawn, a fawn and 3 whites one with a spot. These are the girls for sale: Alabaster Tic Toc LF, IAR 233117. Sire Surilana Lassiter. Alab...aster Kit Kat MF, IAR 233118, Sire Pinjarra El Nino. SOLD Alabaster Rose W, IAR 233121, Sire Pinjarra El Nino. Alabaster Skye W, IAR 233133, Sire Pinjarra El Nino. Alabaster Sky Dancer W, IAR 233125, Sire Pinjarra El Nino. We would like $500 each or all 5 for $2,000. There is no gst to be paid and transfer fees will be paid by the buyers. For further information please pm me Thankyou.

22.01.2022 After returning from the 2014 Charles Ledger I want to thank Sharon and her Team for putting on another great show. The weather will one-day play the game. Alabaster had another good showing, taking 5 Suris and returning with 2 Champions in both the Junior classes and 2 Reserves, 1 for Intermediate Female and 1 for Adult Male. I look forward to next years show.

22.01.2022 Wool the next step in the process of breeding and growing Alpacas. Thanks to Jim and Tanya of Boston Fine Fibres we have recieved our first lot of Suri Wool. I am tickled pink to know that this wool has been produce with fibre we took off the animals we breed. From paddock to product it is a great feeling. Now i have to convince mum to take up her knitting needles again and take it to the final stage.

21.01.2022 Spectacular 2017. Alabaster Alpacas was extremely fortunate to be awarded both Champion and Reserve Champion Junior Female Suris at the 2017 AAA Spectacular. I want to thank Michael and Ros from Elimbari Alpacas for their support this week. I would of not been able to survive without you thanks again.

19.01.2022 So our team to go to the AAA Spectacular has been decided and applications sent. Now for the fun part, training the juniors hehe.

19.01.2022 A couple of our latest cria for this year. Cira in the back of the pic of 2 is Alabaster Pollyanna a SW Female. Mum is Surilana Polaris and the dad of both cria is Surilana Lavish. The cria in the front and by himself is Alabaster Bruce, really happy with him, has great coverage, good confirmation and fleece is starting to pencil up, so should be in our future show team. Keep an eye out for him. So Alabaster has had so far this year 4 boys and 3 girls, with 4 to go we are still hoping we can have a year where the girls are more prolific than the boys. We'll see.

17.01.2022 Our latest edition to the family born an hour or so ago. New Years day cria, hmm what to call it? A lovely SW female cria from El Nino and Surilana Polaris. Faultless birth and she is up an feeding already, love it when this happens. Tally now is 5 girls 3 boys so far, a new record for females in a birthing year. 12 more due so any more females will be a bonus looking forward to see what we get with each birth.

13.01.2022 What a great day at the Boorowa Show, the weather finally played the game compared to the last few years. Thanks to Chris Williams for doing a great job in judging today, I think you got a little suntan, judging in the sun today. Thanks to Carolyn and all her helpers today you always put on a well run and easy going show a pleasure to attend. Alabaster took 4 suri's to the show today a Junior male and female and a Intermediate male and female. Alabaster Heavenly 2nd in clas...s. Alabaster Saladin 1st in class and Reserve Champion Male. Alabaster The Duchess 1st in class and Champion Female. Alabaster Sinbad 1st in class, Champion Male and Supreme Suri. Very happy with results, Thanks to all.

13.01.2022 Woke up this morning to find this strapping lad romping around the place. First cria for the 2015-2016 breeding season. Dam is Jingana Primrose and Sire is Surilana Lavish. Will be a great season if they all arrive like him, although a few girls this year would be great.

12.01.2022 Suris having fun on the farm.

12.01.2022 So birthing season has arrived, I love this time of year probably because it takes a whole year to get here. We had our first cria the other day a SW Female to Primrose from El Nino. A day later another 2 strapping SW lads from Alabaster Vina to Surilana Lavish and Surilana Samara to Alabaster Australis. Samara had our first cria from our newest stud male Alabaster Australis and we are very happy with the results even though he is only a few days old. We have confirmed 12 pregnancies so 3 down 9 to go.

12.01.2022 So a few days ago we had our last cria for the year 16/17. We bred 22 females with 20 lasting till birth. We unfortunately had a still birth which was a solid white female, of course. The remaining cria ended up at 13 females and 6 boys, a terrific results for us as in past years the highest ammount of girls we had was 4. This year was the first year we were able to use El Nino over alot of our females. He produced 10 females and 4 boys. We are very excited to see these cria grow as he has produced lovely animals with terrific frames and highly lustriuous fleece. We did get some colour which made each birth a little more exciting. I have added a couple of pictures of the last two cria, both girls.

11.01.2022 Another lovely day in Goulburn for the a Annual Carousel of Colour. There was a great turnout with breeders coming from Vic and Sa well done to those breeders that took the time to travel so far. Thanks Angela and you're troops for putting on another great show. A big thankyou goes to the Judge Peter Kennedy for his valuable insights and comments on the attributes of the lovely alpacas shown. Alabaster took two Intermediate white alpacas. Jester the Int boy won first in class and Champion Male white suri. Vogue the Int girl winning first in class and Champion Female and taking Supreme White Suri.

11.01.2022 Had a great day today last of the cria finally dropped, a solid white girl, finally. Alabaster Alpacas attended the Gunning show we only had a team of 1 but very happy to be awarded first in class, Champion male, and Supreme Champion. The number of Suris who attended was not many and am hoping next year more will attend. Thankyou to Rob for convening the show and Karen Caldwel for judging. Everyone had a great day.

09.01.2022 I want to thank Angela Smith and Carolyn Austin for putting on a great show, Southern NSW Carousel of Colour 2016. I arrived Sunday morning with my massive alpaca team of 1 and had him vet checked ready to show later in the day. Which was a bit confusing as usually the white suris are judged first at most other shows. The morning was brisk so a few hot cups of chocolate kept me going until showtime. I had a lovely time chatting and catching up with people while we all huddled around the gas fires providing a bit of warmth. I had a lovely day and want to thank the judge Joanne Ham who did a wonderful job informing everyone of the qualities of the animals she judged. I look forward to next years show, hopefully with a few more animals. Result for Alabaster was: Alabaster Sammy 1st Int Male, Champion Male and Supreme White Suri.

09.01.2022 I think the Alpacas can have a dinner feed today instead of a breakfast. Hoping the sun comes out before lunch and thaws things out.

09.01.2022 Glad to see the Southern NSW regional show return as the Carousel of Colour. Thankyou Carolyn and Angela for putting it togther. I look forward to next year already. Thankyou to Natasha Clark and Adrienne Clarke for judging over the 2 days. Alabaster took 4 suris into the White Suri Classes and we were very happy with the results. Alabaster Heavenly 2nd Int. Alabaster The Duchess 1st Adult and Champion Female. Alabaster Saladin 2nd Int and Reserve Champion Male.... Alabaster Sinbad 1st Int, Champion Male and Supreme White See more

08.01.2022 Finally we have our first cria for the breeding season. A lovely little Light Fawn boy which we have named him Maximus. His mum Surilana Lady Luck has given us 2 lovely girls in the past so we were due a boy, by the looks of him he will turn up in our show team next year. The dad is Surilana Macusani Hero who is a very nice Piccolo boy. Maximus is our second Hero cria and they are both very nice, so happy.

05.01.2022 Royal Canberra Show 2017 was a lovely event, weather was nice and the people were great. I think all that attended really enjoyed themselves which is a credit to all those involved in putting it together, well done everyone. Thankyou to the judges Karen Caldwell and Steve Ridout on a super effort. Alabaster Alpacas took only 2 animals as it has been very dry and hot over summer which is not very condusive to having animals keeping their suri fleeces in good order. We had two intermediates, a male, Alabaster Jester and a female, Alabaster Vogue. Vogue won her class and went on to win Champion Int Female. Jester won his class and won Champion Int Male and then went on to win Supreme Suri and Best White. We are humbled to win because of the high quality of Suris at the show.

04.01.2022 Another Charles Ledger show has come and gone, the weather played the game, mostly. The show becomes bigger and better each year and a big congratulations go out to Sharon Dawson and her helpers who keep improving the show, year after year. I want to thank Jillian Holmes and Angela Preuss who had a massive task of judging over 500 fleece and animals, including over 60 suris. I would also like to thank my sister Claire and her husband Laurence who had the daunting task of look...ing after my 3 children while my mum and I attended the show. Alabaster Alpacas took a show team of 4, a junior female, 2 junior males and an adult male. I am very happy and plesantly surprised to win the Supreme Suri Champion with our junior male Alabaster Jester. Further results follows. Alabaster Rockstar: 2nd in class, Reserve Champ Junior Male. Alabaster Sammy: 1st in class, Champ Adult Male. Alabaster Vogue: 1st in class, Champ Junior Female and Best Female. Alabaster Jester: 1st in class, Champion Junior Male, Best Male, Best White and Supreme Suri Champion. I would like to congratulate Sue Tilley of Ferntree Alpacas who brought Alabaster Sinbad along to the show and was awarded 1st in class and Senior Champion Male. Having bred 4 of the 7 in the Supreme lineup was a thrill for me to see. I look forward to next years show. Thankyou.

03.01.2022 Another Charles Ledger has come and gone, Satrurday was pretty cold, cloudy and windy, Sunday ended up being a lovely sunny spring day. I would like to thank the Judges Karen Caldwell and Shane Carey for their time, effort and comments on the animals being judged. I would also like to thank Debra Trostian for putting on the show and Paul Haslin and his team for a well run show. Alabaster took a team of 6 animals. 2 junior boys, 2 junior girls, 1 male adult and 1 female adult.... We were very happy to receive the following results. Alabaster Aurora: 1st in class and Champion Junior Female. Alabaster Destiny: 2nd in class and Reserve Champion Junior Female. Alabaster Twizzle: 1st in class and Champion Junior Male. Alabaster Vogue: 1st in class, Champion Adult Female and Best Female Suri. Alabaster Jester: 1st in class, Champion Adult Male, Best Male Suri, Best White Suri and Supreme Chamion. We were extra happy for Jester to win Supreme as it was his second in a row, being awarded the Supreme in 2016.

03.01.2022 Another great result at the 2015 Goulburn Ag Show for Alabaster Alpacas. Thanks to Rob for running a great show and Wendy Billington for her comments during the judging. I want to thank my sister Claire and my niece Lizzy for their help during the show, many hands make light work. Alabaster Heavenly 1st in class. Alabaster The Duchess 1st in class and Champion Female. Alabaster Sinbad 1st in class, Champion Male and Supreme Suri.

03.01.2022 Another hot day for the 2016 Boorowa show but with plenty of tents viewing the show was very plesant. Andrew Munn did it tough standing out in the hot sun all day but did not falter with his judging abilities. Congratulatios got to Carolyn and Megan and helpers for putting on a great show. Looking forward to next years with a larger group of suris. Results for Alabaster Alpacas were: Alabaster Australis 1st Senior Male Alabaster Sammy 1st Int Male, Champion Male and Supreme Suri.

01.01.2022 So the birthing season has started for Alabaster Alpaca Stud for the 16/17 breeding year. So far we have had a total of 6 out of 20. 2 weeks ago we started off with a SW boy then SW girl, LF male, SW girl, LF girl and last but not least a Multi girl. First multi we have had. All the cria are from El Nino and we are very happy with the quality of cria he is producing. Now we have reached the dizzy hights of 4 females so far this year anymore we get will break our record for females in a year. Hope you like the photos. Will add posts as more of the cria drop.
