24.01.2022 #Fridayphoto The Director has been out and about this week flying the New South Wales/Queensland skies, not a bad view from his office!

20.01.2022 An aircraft ‘boneyard’ is undoubtedly a haven for interesting drone footage. When said boneyard sits right beside an active airport though

19.01.2022 Switzerland has been pushing the UAV industry forward for a long time now, on both the public and the private front, interesting approach - using an internet connection vs broadcast approach!

18.01.2022 ‘Fog proof’ is perhaps not an accurate description. ‘Low visibility equipped’ might be a better way of describing it. However, some of the other design and construction features are impressive as well as socially responsible.

18.01.2022 Alacon Aero is proud to be a member of UAviators, a humanitarian UAV Network. Their mission is to promote the safe, coordinated and effective use of UAVs in a wide range of humanitarian and development settings by developing and championing international guidelines for the responsible use of UAVs. They actively promote operational safety and document lessons learned and best practices. UAViators only mobilise at the request of established aid and development partners. The o...bjectives are five-fold: establish clear standards for the responsible use of UAVs and provide up-to-date regulatory information; document lessons learned and best practices; provide hands-on UAV training; inform UAV deployments during disasters; and catalyze research & information sharing. http://uaviators.org

17.01.2022 On 11 November 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after four years of continuous warfare. Today we celebrate the end of the First World War and honour the sacrifice that thousands of Australian service men and women who gave to our Country. Reflecting on the importance of this significant time in history and remembering those who died or suffered in all wars and armed conflicts, we observed one minutes silence and thanked you for your sacrifice and service. We remembered them.

17.01.2022 #Photooftheweek The Director took this picture whilst out working this week. Thought it needed to be shared as it is a cracking shot!

16.01.2022 #Fridayfunny #notmeanttofly #beattheairintosubmission How many Pilot's does it take to fly a helicopter

15.01.2022 Our director has been out of the office this week, soaring over northern W.A. Lucky him enjoying 35+ degree days. The 'office' views not bad either!

15.01.2022 Is this an opportunity for the aviation industry in Australia?

14.01.2022 Did someone say aviation guinea pigs...

13.01.2022 Back to the future perhaps?

13.01.2022 ATSB reporting requirements for UAS incidents are about to change. The Transport Safety Investigation Regulations 2021 will commence on 30 September 2021 and are available online at Transport Safety Investigation Regulations 2021 (legislation.gov.au).

12.01.2022 'In the end, we can only preserve mastery of the aircraft if we understand airmanship as the management of uncertainty, not simply the management of systems. We must know how the airplane is constructed to achieve the design capabilities, and match this with a strategy for how we want the airplane to be flown to utilize those capabilities, and then insist that the autoflight systems fly our plan.'

11.01.2022 Reminder to join the broadcast tomorrow at 7pm AEST to hear our director and fellow candidates up for election to the Recreational Aviation Australia (RA-Aus) Board. Recreational Aviation Australia (RA-Aus) has made big gains in opening up opportunities for recreational pilots in this country. With almost ten thousand members, RA-Aus is the fastest growing group of aviators in Australia. Right now, there is an opportunity to continue that growth by encouraging, promoting and ...further developing the organisation and sport through increased privileges, tapping into the explosion of ideas surrounding sport aviation, and potentially opening the organisation to other recreational aviators. Our Director believes that with his background, he can bring the enthusiasm (and expertise) required to capitalise on that framework and opportunity. Simon has nominated because he wants to contribute to: Increasing the opportunities and privileges for recreational pilots. Reducing the costs and simplifying the process of being able to own and operate an aircraft in Australia. Improving relationships with regulators and other industry bodies. A positive and collective safety culture that ultimately supports all the above. His full election statement link is below, and he welcomes any questions regarding his nomination. https://alaconaero.com/elementor-824/ Simon will also participate in two live broadcasts to allow RA-Aus members to engage, ask questions, and listen to all the candidates discuss the issues that matter to them. 10.01.2022 #WhereistheDirector We are not sure that our director actually remembers what the office looks like at the moment. Definitely kicking goals.

10.01.2022 Interesting concept.

07.01.2022 Yet another entrant to the UAV cargo lift space.

07.01.2022 A time to remember.

07.01.2022 #Pictureoftheweek Ninety years ago on the 21 September 1930, the Hunter brothers set the flight record for a 23 day non-stop flight. The brothers had an ambitious dream to make the longest flight without landing in the world. They turned that into reality.

05.01.2022 #FridayFunny With the director is out of the office, we be like...

04.01.2022 "High-performing wing technology is one of several solutions - alongside sustainable aviation fuels and hydrogen - we can implement to contribute to aviation's decarbonisation ambition".

03.01.2022 An interesting article on the expansion of Google drones. Claiming there will one day be hundreds of thousands of drones in the sky! If your business would like to be 'sky ready' including across the board risk analysis, do not hesitate to give AlaconAero a call to discuss.

03.01.2022 Interesting article on passwordless secure sign in authentication. From a risk mitigation lens is this business secure, what future issues will arise and will business sign on? Alacon Aero looks at all risk when assessing a business and it's individual needs across the board!

02.01.2022 #Fridayfunny How many of you look back and can relate to this? All hands were up here in the office and not all incidents were alcohol related!

02.01.2022 On Mental Health Day, the overall objective is to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilise efforts of support. COVID-19 has had a major impact on people’s mental health. Some groups, including veterans, frontline workers, students, people living alone, and those with pre-existing mental health conditions, have been particularly affected. And services for mental, neurological and substance use disorders have been significantly disrupted. Yet there is cause for optimism. During the World Health Assembly in May 2021, governments from around the world recognised the need to scale up quality mental health services at all levels. At Alacon Aero we are keeping it upbeat by sharing positive stories, having a conversation with family or friend or just taking time for some self care.

01.01.2022 #Fridayfunny We could not choose just one!

01.01.2022 #Interestingarticle Much like air travel changed after 9/11 with security screening, so will COVID-19 change our demands for a safe, clean travel experience. Cleanliness and sanitisation will become the norm, which is not necessarily a bad thing in our opinion!
