22.01.2022 FANS WANTED MON NIGHT Hey we need fans on Monday night for our film clip! We are doing a live band video shoot at THE PUB (Tamworth) this Mon at 8 pm, so if you'd like to grab a few girlfriends and come along, that'd be great! There are some rules around COVID-19 that we have to adhere to, so be aware of that. Our aim is to create a fun concert atmosphere with the band miming on stage while the camera crew film us through a crowd of fans. Share this message around to friends (in Tamworth) to help us get a small crowd together. Thank you
22.01.2022 Streaming services (like Spotify) make millions selling music whilst only paying a tiny fraction to songwriters (like $0.04) each time a song gets played. At this rate, a songwriter can only make $10,000 if their song gets streamed 1 million times. But that’s a lot of streams and realistically most indie artists will get around 1000 streams and that means the songwriter will only get $400. So you can see how this deal is going down for songwriters. It’s great for Spotify (re...ally great!) and let’s also consider that it costs $2000 on average to record a song professionally in a recording studio using pro musicians and then there’s the added cost of making a film clip to go along with the song. So you can see how unfair this deal is, really, while streamers like Spotify make millions, the person who created the song makes next to nothing. This petition is asking for 1 cent per stream, which is not a lot to ask. Please sign the petition, to help make songwriting more viable in the digital age. Thank you https://www.change.org/p/daniel-ek-we-d//promote_or_share
