Generally, the ingredients included in making Xoi are varied yet often combined with the vibrant natural coloring and flavoring such as pandan leaves, gac fruit (which is a reddish melon), and magenta leaves. Rügen by the way is the biggest German Island and personally I think it's the most beautiful as well, but I grew up there and spent 19 years of my life on this little piece of heaven in the Baltic Sea so you could say I am biased. Let's be honest, we Germans looove food, good food so of course a visit to my home Island involves food - to be precise FISH! Yes, we love a good Fischbrötchen ( aka fish bun in english) which is made with fish and a variety of other ingredients such as pickles, remoulade, onion, lettuce or horseradish. What fish goes on the bun depends on your liking...prawns, Brathering, Salmon, Mackerel, Atlantic Cod - whatever your heart desires.
