25.01.2022 Huge Saturday morning in the gym today. X-train class Workout was a toughie although the beautiful winter sun made the run sections more bearable. Rowers have been working hard at building their endurance and it paid off as they were on for their 10000m Row. Congrats guys

Shani has been strength training 3x per week since the start of the year and today nailed her first pull up ( and then added two more for good measure). 20.01.2022 Today is the last day of The Push-Up Challenge, with over 2 million dollars being raised for Headspace, the National Youth Mental Health Organisation. A big shout out to Members Tracey Allan and Grace Heyblok for keeping on pushin' through the 21 day challenge. It's up to us all to keep pushin' for better mental health in Australia. Keep breaking down stigmas, encourage more conversations with those around you and seek help when you're living through emotional turmoil. Most importantly, keep living and loving life to the fullest!! Today’s target is 120 push-ups. Research has shown that doing between 60-120 minutes of exercise per week can improve symptoms of depression or maybe help prevent it in the first place. There is also some evidence that it’s extra helpful to do your exercise in a group and get yourself a social boost as well.

19.01.2022 Swan Athletic rowers win big Rowing Australia has released the official results from the Australian Indoor Rowing Challenge held on Sunday. Nine Swan Athletic crew members competed across three individual events earning a total of 8 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze . They were also part of relay teams that scored 2 silver and 1 bronze medal.... Very proud of these Swan Athletic rowers, they always put in at training, are willing to take on any challenge and have a lot of fun along the way. 18.01.2022 New Rowing Class The Swan Athletic rowing programs are going full steam ahead, and all classes are booked out. We are now adding a 6.15 Thursday morning class to provide more rowing opportunities. Rowing is a full body, low impact cardio and strength-training workout. 18.01.2022 One of the biggest days of the year for the Swan Athletic crew is participating in the Australian Indoor Rowing Challenge. The relays are a fun way to finish the day. Changeovers can be pretty chaotic but the women’s team doing a good job with it.

Thrilled with these results and testament to the willingness of our rowers to have a go! Well done Crew and cheers to your wonderful effort... 15.01.2022 Day 1 of the #25pushupchallenge. I will be conducting 25 push-ups for 25 days to help raise awareness for things such as PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), anxiety and depression that drive people to commit suicide. I was nominated by Susan Mills... The rules are simple: *Once you are nominated your 25 days starts the following day. *Everyday you record yourself doing 25 push-ups even if you have to drop to your knees to get 25 *Every day you must nominate a different person. Let's reach as many people as possible.Let's hope by doing this we can build awareness for anyone who is suffering from a mental illness, you are not alone and we are here for you. Special mention to Arthur who racked up over 200000m individually in a mighty effort. This is a big event with over 8000 participants in 702 teams and 1.2 billion metres accumulated. 07.01.2022 This mornings x-trainers working on a resistance circuit. One of the common fitness myths is that resistance training will make women bulky. I can tell you this is not the case and once you give it a go and start to feel and see the benefits you’ll be glad you did. We use a variety of equipment including dumbbells, barbells, kettlebells, suspension straps ( TRX), medicine balls and your own Bodyweight to build strength and endurance. This process also stokes up your metabolis...m so you are still calories long after your workout is finished and therefore aiding weight loss. 03.01.2022 Saturday Mornings Done Right !! A really solid conditioning session from this mornings x-train crew. Lots of rowing, slamming, skipping, sprawling and flipping. Also squeezed in some sleds , Intense SkiErg intervals and 20metre sprints. Finished off with " Sally" to really set the quads on .

02.01.2022 Swan Athletic hosted rowers competing in the Australian Indoor Rowing Championships last Sunday. It was a fantastic day of competition, with a broad spread of ages and experience levels taking part. Very proud of all the Swan Athletic rowers that gave it a crack. Now that results have been finalised it was exciting to see Pauline Swan, Lisa Kendell and Nardia Guillaumier have won individual medals. Lisa and Nardia then teamed up with Nicci Perry and Katrina Davis( From Shoalh...aven Rowing Club) to make a crack relay team to represent Swan Athletic. Super excited they were able to claim the gold medal. A big result for a little gym in a regional area! Events like this one are a great chance for our rowers to display the results of all the hard work they put in at training.
