25.01.2022 An anxious or stressed mind will project its worst fears into the unknown, then often become trapped in a downward spiral of worry and rumination about situations that never eventuate. Being able to ground yourself in reality and simply deal with what’s in front of you is a habit worth cultivating. What a relief to remember that the vast majority of our fears are complete fiction
22.01.2022 Are you prone to overthinking? Can you make the distinction between useful analysis and destructive rumination? A good rule of thumb is that useful analysis leads to taking an action, whereas rumination simply loops you back into the problem. This is how people stay stuck and anxious. The good news is that you are not a slave to your thoughts! There are effective techniques you can learn to make these distinctions and gain relief from excessive overthinking. This is so fundamental to mental wellbeing that I teach it to all my clients.
