25.01.2022 Ok. This post is a big deal for me. I’m nervous. I’ve always struggled with my weight. It’s a constant struggle. 2 years ago I weighed in at 81kg’s and I was h...appy at that weight, I’m 175cm’s tall so that weight looked good on me. I worked hard to get there. But then I got lazy, I stopped working out. I stopped watching what I was eating and I was drinking more than I should. Surprise surprise the weight just piled on. So here I am now, 96.8kilo’s (Wow thats hard to type) and hating it. It’s action time! I’ve committed to an 8 week challenge with Fitnessworks Darwin City and I’m going to share how I’m going with you. The good, the bad and the sweaty ! My first weigh in is this Monday, wish me luck. Fitness Works will not be using The Territory Check in App supplied for mandatory contact tracing, so no need to do anything further during your visit to our gym.... 15.01.2022 We got you sorted! Regular Exercise goes hand in hand with healthy eating, so here is a Breakfast recipe for you to follow for the next week. Let us know if you like it by commenting or if you dont comment #SundayBreakfast Vegan Overnight Oats - Serves 4 Ingredients porridge oats 125g... apple juice 300ml, plus a splash (optional) maple syrup 1 tbsp, plus extra to serve flame raisins or golden sultanas 3 tbsp apples 2, grated dairy-free coconut yogurt 100g Method STEP 1 Mix together the oats, apple juice, maple syrup and raisins. Leave to soak overnight or for at least 1-2 hours. STEP 2 To finish, stir through the grated apple and another splash of apple juice if you want it a bit looser. 13.01.2022 Now that we are all back into the swing of things, remember that stretching and recovering is just as important as your workout. Take atleast 5-10mins to cool down and stretch after every session so that your muscles are less likely to be tight and uncomfortable.

05.01.2022 Happy "Tapeworm Tuesday" Friends. So after one whole week of exercising with the Team at Fitnessworks Darwin City and watching my diet I had my first weigh in. ...I was pretty pumped, in my head I was killing it and I was certain the scales would show a huge loss to reflect my efforts. Well as is often the case, things did not go according to my plan. I started this "Journey" at 96.8kg's and I weighed in yesterday at 96.5kg's. WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL? So you can obviously imagine my crushing disappointment. I just could not wrap my head around it. I had done everything right. I had worked out 6 times over the last 7 days, I had followed my food plan. I had cut out ALL WINE! ALL of it! So while I was spiraling and throwing a mini tantrum, the amazing Chloe from Fitness Works talked me down. So while yes, the scales told me I had lost only 300grams, the body scan relieved that I had lost a kilo of fat, gained half a kilo of muscle and was holding an additional half a kilo in water from last week. She reminded me that these number were the important ones. The ones I needed to be proud of. So I am. I'm proud of the work I've done and of my achievements this week. I am a Group Fitness instructor and traditional weight trainer. I have been in the industry for a long time with knowledge of athletic sports, bodybuilding and nutrition. I have a Cert IV in Fitness.
