24.01.2022 Albany Golf Club Sunday Sweepstakes, proudly sponsored by Cameron Bergsma and the team at Jaguar Cabling saw a great field of 30 ladies and 33 men competing in windy conditions. The ladies winner on a superb score of 40 points on a count back was Jill Munday, with Janet Williams runner up also on 40 points. Third place with 34 points was Pippa Williams. In the men’s competition, David Kerr came out on top with a great score of 39 points, with Robin Baxter a close second on 38 points. Coming in third was Alex Joss with 36 points. Congratulations also goes to Martin Lloyd who was the winner of Luka’s lucky ball- sponsored each week by Luka Sumich! As always thanks to Cameron and the team at Jaguar Cabling for their ongoing and generous support!

24.01.2022 One of the biggest Saturday fields in years today with 175 hitting off at the AGC thanks to our Sponsor Mark Blyth’s Fine Jewellery store in York St. No surprises over 50 ladies playing and a number of visitors enjoying the course. The weekend got off with a rush following the Many Peaks Cricket Clubs Corporate day friday followed by the Albany World of Cars Twilight Golf challenge won by Kevin Draper and Jan Austin scoring 21 and 20 sf points.This followed by another huge night in the Club lounge headlined by the Clubs new Chef Emma Pellicans and her assistant Trish. Great job girls.

24.01.2022 AGC Ladies stableford competition today, generously sponsored by Janine Barrett and Heather Painter, saw a very impressive field of 75 tackle the course. Our winner with an excellent score of 42 points was Kerry Steicke. Second, with an equally impressive score of 41 points was Eleanor Stocks, and third on 40 points was Anne Mackay. Wonderful scores all round ladies, congratulations to the winners and place getters, and thank you to Janine and Heather for their valued sponsorship!

22.01.2022 Another massive weekend of golf at the AGC starting this afternoon with Albany World of Cars Sponsored Twilight Golf followed by our usual $15 plus dinners in the club lounge from 5pm.Tomorrow is Club Member, Sponsor and Lawyer Jamie Hodgkinson’s annual Golf day (150 players entered) represented here by hot favourite for the event Bob Mason to then be followed by Sundays huge Albany Hospice Charity Fundraising Golf event with a packed field of another 150 players. Be Great to see Glen Jakovich and John Worsfold in action with a Golf club in hand rather than a footy! Weathers looking good so all set for a big weekend. 22.01.2022 Wednesday men’s scroungers, proudly sponsored once again by Craig Anning and the team at Elders Insurance saw some fantastic golf played in great conditions. 109 players took to the course today, with our winner with a very impressive 44 points was Kurt Mckain, with Ross Mearns second on a very good 40 points. Third place went to Rod Adams, with a score of 39 points. Our leading visitor today was Matthew Poultney from Kweda Golf Club with 42 points. For those unsure, Kweda is... about 380km north of Albany, not far from Brookton. Our gross winner today was Greg Stocks with a score of 32 points. Special mention once again to Charles Johnson for taking out the Espresso One voucher. 20.01.2022 Albany Golf Club Saturday competition saw a fantastic field today compete in both mens and ladies competitions, with 110 men vying for the January monthly mug, proudly sponsored by Gold MX 1611AM. Congratulations to Jordan Willox who took the win on a count back, with a fantastic score of 70 nett. Second place went to David Smith also on 70 nett, with Chris Slynn finishing third on 71 nett. The men’s gross winner was Shayne Griskonis with a score of 78 nett. We also saw 38 ...ladies vying for the ladies trophy proudly sponsored by Sue Hicks and Judy Little. Coming in first with a very good score of 71 nett on a count back was Robyn Sobey, with Maree Slynn second, also on 71 nett. Third on 72 nett was Judy Little. 16.01.2022 AGC Saturday competition saw an incredible field of 151 take to the course (seems some were scared off by the threat of thunderstorms!). Both the men’s and ladies competitions were generously sponsored by Mark Blyth Fine Jewellery. The men’s competition saw 110 players, the winner on an outstanding score of 45 points was Andrew Penson. Second place was decided on a count back, with Paul Murray on 41 points, and an unlucky Dave Garrood third, also on 41 points. The men’s gross winner with 32 points was Greg Stocks. The ladies competition saw 41 players, with Judy Loveridge winning with a very impressive score of 43 points. second went to Sue Burgess with 41 points, and Maree Slynn third with 39 points on a count back. The winner for the ladies competition with a great score of 39 points was Sarah Smith, followed by Annette Harbron with 37 points, and Jill Munday with 36 points. The men’s competition was won by Peter Tomlinson with a score of 35 points, followed by David Kerr and Kevin Draper both with scores of 34 points. Special mention goes to Ian Nichols who toiled hard to take out the prestigious Lukas lucky ball, donated each week by Luka Sumich. Today’s winner with a fantastic score of 40 points was Rob Johnson. Second with an also impressive 39 points was Ray Barker, with Malcolm Cameron coming home third with 38 points. Today’s gross winner was Andrew Penson with 31 points. Special mention goes to Charles Johnson who completed a rare, but prestigious double, taking out the NAGA, sponsored by Espresso One Cafe, and the pot of gold!! 06.01.2022 Winner of today’s Albany Printers Trophy on a huge score of 45 sf points out from the wilderness was Jeff Grey. Fantastic score! 06.01.2022 Albany Golf Club saw a solid field of 58 ladies take to the course today in round two of the Summer Sun Stroke series, today generously sponsored by Marshall Family Law. In what was a highly competitive day, four players finished with a nett score of 69, as a result of a count back, Wendy Ferguson came out on top, with Kerry Steicke coming in second, and Kerry Lane coming in third.
