23.01.2022 June is Bowel Cancer Awareness month. Bowel cancer is Australia’s second biggest cancer killer and the second most common type of newly diagnosed cancer in Australia. Our GPs take bowel cancer seriously and if caught almost 99% of bowel cancer cases can be treated successfully when detected early. ... Preventive services, diagnostic screening and timely treatment are the first steps in helping fight cancer. Please see your GP if you have any concerns.

We strongly advise the flu vaccination for as many people as possible. 19.01.2022 We currently still have private flu vaccinations in stock for those patients who wish to achieve the highest level of protection during the peak of the influenza season. Flu season in Queensland is typically from June to September, with the highest peak usually in August. Revaccination may be considered for people who were vaccinated in early 2020.... Individual risk factors, risk of disease and current circulating virus strains should be taken into consideration before receiving a second dose. Appointments with our GPs can be made online via our website or by contacting Reception on 3264 0800 if you wish to chat more about flu vaccinations.

08.01.2022 Please be aware that on Monday 10th August (Moreton Bay Region Show Holiday) the surgery will only be open from 8am to 12noon. *Public holiday fees will apply. 08.01.2022 Dear valued patients, As we are not yet at the end of the coronavirus pandemic, Albany Hills Radius Medical Centre will continue to offer telehealth consultations for patients with respiratory symptoms until 31st March 2021. This is in addition to other appropriate reasons for a telehealth consultation. As of the 1st October 2020, Medicare has amended the rules regarding telehealth consultations; the government has recognised that the continued mandatory bulk billing of most... patients for telehealth consultations is unsustainable for General Practices. Please note from the 1st of October 2020, our standard fees will apply for your telehealth consultation and you will be entitled to a Medicare rebate if you have had a face-to-face consultation with one of our GP’s within the last 12 months. When you are booked for a telehealth consultation, you are able to stay at home and await the Doctors phone call at the scheduled time. Our reception staff will contact you throughout the day to process payment over the phone. Please be aware that if phone calls are not answered at the allocated appointment time, a non-attendance fee of $50 is applicable. Telehealth appointments are not available on a Saturday. Please refer to our website for more details on our schedule of fees. Thank you.

07.01.2022 Albany Hills Radius Medical Centre is saddened to hear the tragic passing of one of our former GPs, Dr Jenny Nilon who lost her battle with cancer recently. Jenny had worked with Radius from 1993 until 2015 and was loved by all her patients and colleagues. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Jenny’s family who have had to say goodbye to her way too early. Rest In Peace Jenny.
