21.01.2022 Reminder of Important kitten season information!! Do you have an undesexed female cat? Now is the time to get her booked into 1 of our local vet clinics to be desexed before she comes into season. If you have a conssesion card you can pop into our Opshop and get a voucher for a reduced fee. Is it to late? Is your cat already expecting? Please contact us or 1 of our other local rescues to help rehome them with all adequate vet work covered by law. ... As the weather warms up we will start seeing kittens come into care. Below is some information regarding the laws around rehoming kittens. Please note these do not apply if you surrender them to a rescue. We have 4 different places locally that can help you out. The law requires all domestic cats six months and older to be: sterilised microchipped wearing a tag in a public place registered with the local council it is kept in Cat owners found not to be compliant with these requirements may face fines of up to $5000.

19.01.2022 You may remember a while back we asked for quotes to build a double emergency dog cage. We would like to express how thankful we are to those that sent in quotes. We decided to entrust the job to David Read who has done an amazing job for us, the results were exactly what we wanted within our budget. Great, strong and sturdy cages with fast excellent service. Just been castrated so post op care needed for the next few weeks (no baths, limit exercise and stop licking) Otis... 6 month old mastiff x Shepard (just a guess) Desexed Male. He is currently about 20kg but could make it to 35kg plus. He is a big bouncy puppy with lots of love to give. Good with other dogs, kids, unknown about cats. He is a super fast learner and so willing to please. Has had limited training so someone keen and with time to do all the puppy education is a must. $450 adoption fee. Includes desexing, microchipping and first 2 vaccinations.

15.01.2022 237 Milly On Trial* 11 months old, Desexed Female Deerhound x ridgeback x mastiff... Milly is a beautiful sweet girl. Not high energy but she is a LARGE dog. She is over 35kg now and could still fill out more. Great on the lead, good with kids, people, dogs and cats. She would love to have a human to call her own. 13.01.2022 Please don’t choose to give kittens or puppies away If you have an accidental litter we can help. We have a NO judgement surrender process and we even sterilise mumma for you. NO questions asked! ... We want to make this process as easy as we can for you. ALL kittens and puppies must be surrendered, this helps to prevent them from becoming parents themselves. Did you know kittens can fall pregnant from as young as 4 months of age and puppies from 6 months of age. It’s SO important to do the right thing and contact one of our local rescue groups who can help to rehome these babies who will all be vaccinated, microchipped and sterilised. If you have someone who is interested in adopting one from your litter we can take them through the adoption process which includes a sterilisation voucher to use when the animal is of age to be desexed. Adoption fee also includes - health check - 1st vaccination - Flea and worm treatment - Microchip Please consider reaching out and asking for assistance if you’re in this situation. 12.01.2022 Public announcement It's time for our volunteers and their families to have a break. Large/adult animal intake closed till mid January. ... Small breed / small animals intake still open. Kittens / puppies intake still open. Opshop closed from 24th December till January 11th. Unfortunately due to our carers going away and our coordinators deserving much needed breaks we will not be taking any adult animals into care until mid January. If you are in a crisis please send us a message and we will do what we can to help you. Please understand we are all volunteers with family's and our own animals who deserve a break. Thank you for all of your support through the year and all those who have given our animals loving forever homes. We wish everyone a happy holiday period and hope to see everyone in the new year.

09.01.2022 Adopted* Jax 4 year old black & tan Kelpie cross... Desexed, microchipped, registered Jax is an old sole. He would love to find a home with a mature someone who can be with him most of the time. He is an anxious boy and is currently medicated. Jax has had training with a local dog trainer but the methods have not been successful. He needs clear direction and a consistent leader to take his worries away. He is ok with other dogs if introduced properly. Though he does get jealous if he is not receiving the attention (with proper training and communication I don’t see this being an issue). He loves to cuddle and play fetch. Has fear of thunderstorms Previous owner didn’t trust him with children, but has been find with mine. Separation anxiety and has been distructive. Please PM if you would like further information. No adoption fee for this fella.
