25.01.2022 Well it's business as usual around here Always having a laugh and doing what we can to keep ahead of things. But please remember a lot of businesses won't survive this crisis so it's important to support local industry where you can Thank you for all your support and if you need anything fixed you know where to come +

23.01.2022 Let's talk descaling Boring I know, but necessary. As nice as Albany is it is no secret our water is pretty crap. So never use town water in your machine as a general rule, stick with filtered rainwater or spring water. I guarantee this will preserve the life of your appliance. If you absolutely must use town water then descale your machine as soon as that annoying little light tells you to. That is critical. You would be amazed how fast blockages and build up can form.... And anyone that uses a kettle and has a shower (which I hope is most of us) knows calcium cakes and bakes its way into everything in town. So stay frosty out there coffee lovers and always trust the blinking light on your machine, it needs your help! +

23.01.2022 Great news, our entire team is back on deck this week and back to normal hours! Thank you all for the support you have shown us over the past month - most people have been so supportive and understanding through these tough times Hopefully the worst of it is behind us - precautions will still be adhered to but we now believe its safe to return and get on with what we're best at - fixing your appliances! +

22.01.2022 Check this out! Induction cooktop meltdown ... thankfully not common but a bit of a horrible thing to wake up to.

22.01.2022 In following with government preventative measures we have decided to cease home visits and workshop repairs at this time. Our priority, as it always has been, is the health and well-being of not only our staff but our valued customers. Going forward it would be grossly irresponsible to enter your home and potentially put you or your family at risk. It would also be irresponsible to offer a pickup and drop off service where the chances of contamination are still high. Its not... how we will do business and no amount of money is worth that risk to our community. Additionally, I urge you all to please hang onto your appliances and do not contribute to landfill at this time. If a replacement is your only option at this time we completely understand; but please keep your broken appliances aside for later fixing or even donate them to us where we can either repair, upcycle or recycle them responsibly at a later date. Thank you all for your support, we're all having some time off to stay healthy and come back swinging once this Covid-19 situation is sorted out. In the mean time we will periodically be checking our calls and emails if you have any questions and we will do our best to get back to you as soon as we can. We will let you all know once Albany Appliance Repair re-opens +

11.01.2022 Let's talk SCRUD ... Scrud is a brown waxy "oil"-like build up that forms on the inner and outer drum, it causes not only muddy stains on clothing but leaves the perforations in the drum to block which restricts the water from pumping out. To avoid scrud limit your use of fabric softener and run hot washes through your machine regularly - if it gets to this stage however the only option is for us to remove the drum and pressure clean it If you're worried your washer might have a scrud problem give us a call. Check out our before and after photo! +
