08.01.2022 Out of the 9 Albany drivers, 7 were eliminated in the top 12 shootout, leaving brother and sister team, tayissa, box 38 (senior) and Blake box 28 (junior) Condren, representing Albany in the top 4 - both finishing a respectable 4th place after such a tough day of racing. The well earned results by all are as follows; Seniors ... Samantha Grixti in box 75 finish 12th place and broke her PB for The Perth track. Chelsea Norton in box 4 only just missed out on the top 6 by .3 of a sec! Fiona Grixti in box 57 was eliminated in the final 6 after an extremely close run by Tayissa Condren (#38) and Aiden Hoffman (#139) Tayissa Condren box 38 had a load of fun and carnage on the final corner at Jacks Hill, blowing a whopping 7 tyres throughout the day and being involved in several crashes, keeping her crew master Aaron Condren extremely busy with maintaining the boxes highest standard, and setting the fastest time of 43.34 for the day. She made it to equal 3rd champion on points, but with a count back finished in 4th position for senior champion Juniors Kobi Berger in box 69 and Jacob Oborne in box 7 made it through to the top 9, they are both super proud of their achievements, especially for kobi’s first year! Saleem McNaught in box 40 flew through day being eliminated in the top 9 by Blake Condren (#28) and Isaac Scarey (#111) by 1 secound Christopher Oborne in box 22 was the suprise for the day, one of the youngest to make the top 6, being eliminated after taking a corner a smidge too wide! Blake Condren came through on his first ever podium finish for 4th place Junior, with minimum wear and tear, being the youngest in the top 4, a massive achievement at the age of 9. Albany club look forward to their champs on Saturday October 31st 2020.
