22.01.2022 HIGGS ENDS TITLE DROUGHT Gary Higgs has finally broken through to win his first WA Super Sedan Title, prevailing in an epic race at Attwell Park tonight. Trouchet drove a magnificent race to finish runner-up while Mt Barker’s Rob Knox and Chris Pavlovich rounded out the podium. Well done to Albany’s Jason Batchelor who has to be commended for his efforts in the final, his brilliant run unfortunately ending on lap 38. A huge crowd in the house to kick off our new season! 19.01.2022 SSA AVEG STREET STOCK WA TITLE - PARKING Hi everyone There has been a bit of conjecture and concern about the parking at Albany.... After speaking with the club at 11.00am this morning I (Jason) will undertake the allocation of pit parking. Where possible I will endeavour to accommodate all requests HOWEVER not guaranteed. What I need to know is: who would you like / need to park with do you have a transporter or unusually long vehicle which requires additional room requests need to be in by Tuesday 12 January 2021. After this date you will be allocated a bay and that will be your bay. requests to be emailed to Jason’s email [email protected] do not post requests below as they will not be accepted. You will be sent a pit map hopefully before the event with your bay for easy entry and there will be volunteers to assist on the day. We are trying to accommodate everyone to make the event as good as possible but please understand that making 86 people happy may not be possible but I intend to try!

19.01.2022 Packages will be be available really soon!!!

17.01.2022 With tough competition every time the Production Sedans rolled onto the Atwell Park track the end of season championship was going to be a close one. In the end it was exactly that and it came down to eleven points with Shane Devonshire taking out the win over club stalwart Ron Belfield. Starting off the season with some niggling mechanical issues Devonshire had a strong start with opening night seeing him finish all three heat races in the top three and second in the feature.... Across the other three nights of racing Shane would finish all bar one heat race in no worse than fourth position and in the features had a third, DNF and fifth. It was a season of what ifs for Belfield has he brought his broom to opening night as he clean swept all three heats and the feature for maximum points. The Noel Pearson Memorial saw him with two seconds in heat one and two and then fail to start the third and feature. Missing the USA vs WA Speedweek night cost valuable points as at the USA Invasion Tour event he would go on to win all four races again and finish the club championship in second. Mixing it with the front running guys all season long Robert Wolfy Wolfenden was always a threat and finished with a third (Opening Night) and two seconds (Speedweek & Invasion Tour) on his way to third overall in club points.

17.01.2022 Drivers dont forget to nominate for next weekend, nominations close on Monday night.

16.01.2022 Despite having a season off newly re-crowned Formula 125 State Champion Sam Jewell hadnt lost any of his speed as he claimed the Albany Speedway Formula 125 Club Championship. Showing that consistency is important in a championship Jewell would finish all of his heat races in the top three except one where he lost his chain and had to record a DNF. These results allowed him to start the features at the front of the field and would convert two features to wins and the other t...wo to thirds. It was an up and down season for Jacinta Tester who would finish the club championship in second. The season got off to a bad start where the opening night feature saw her record a DNF, she bounced back at the Noel Pearson Memorial though. Not only did she become the first female to win the Memorial outright she clean swept the night making the most of the double points on offer. Then as the division provided support for the Late Models Tester was unable to compete the first night and was second on the second night. After missing the opening night club president Craig Tester rallied enough points through the other three meeting to finish in third. SWB Photography

13.01.2022 Great to have the WA Super Sedan Title and champion Gary Higgs on the back page of tomorrow’s paper!

12.01.2022 Front running Production Sedan driver Jason Batchelor jumped over to the Street Stock division last season running a number of shows in the car he purchased in the last off season. Adapting to the challenge of running the opposite way when needing too Batchelor had a successful season winning four heat races and two features. This would give him the club championship for the Street Stocks ahead of Lincoln Coleman and Paul Bowman. SWB Photography

08.01.2022 As we have very limited pit insurance books, where possible everyone needs to go online to lodge their 1 day pit insurance now. Below is a list of steps on how to do this. You will need to do both a 1 day pit insurance, plus the indemnity waiver. Once this is processed you will be added to a list that will be at the gate. These options have been put in place because of COVID-19 and will hopefully help in alleviating pit-gate queues and is also contact-free.... Please be patient with us as we are bound to have a few gremlins. Please note everyone who is in the pit area must have insurance and sign the indemnity waiver(either by the process on line or at the gate) at each race meeting. To pay a 1 night/day pit licence online you will need to download the speedway Australia app onto your phone, or follow the link to their web page https://www.speedwayaustralia.org/licensing/licensing then go to licencing and pick one day pit entry. After you have filled this in and paid, you can then fill in the indemnity waiver that is on the app as well, or scan the QR code which will be placed outside pits gate. It is also online under "information Covid-19 resource centre.

05.01.2022 Finishing all three meetings on the podium has helped Jasmin Kennedy claim the 2019-2020 Albany Speedway Junior Sedan Club Championship. Jasmin got the season off to a perfect start at the opening meeting, winning two heats and the feature, she followed this up with a second feature win at the Noel Pearson Memorial. The other meeting the Juniors contested was as support for the USA vs WA Speedweek Sprintcar Series which saw Kennedy come home in third.... Just like her fellow competitor Hope Batchelor finished all three meetings on the podium with two seconds and a feature win on the way to claiming second in the club championship. In third was debutant Bella Batchelor and fourth went to another debutant, Harrison Beres SWB Photography
