23.01.2022 Our awesome Junior Roller Hockey crew finished up tonight and we think they did an amazing job of learning new skills and game play in just 6 weeks. We hope to... run it again in Term 2 so keep your eyes peeled!! Thanks to all the coaches Kitty, Hazel, Stax and Miss Hell who volunteered many hours to this trial program

10.01.2022 The opportunity to apply for a grant from the City of Albany was raised with a potential $3000 for our club and as much as this money is needed we have decided ...to not apply. We wanted to talk about why we have chosen to not apply for this money. We could have said nothing. But we are using our social media platform to talk. This money is from Rio Tinto and then distributed by our local government. This year Rio Tinto destroyed an important Aboriginal site, Juuken Gorge that is located in the far north Western Australia, that was over 46 000 years old and held great significance for the Puutu Kunti Kurrama and Pinikura people. We cannot accept money from this unethical source. Sport has a platform for social change and we acknowledge our privilege to be able to speak out. We encourage people, community and sports to look at the sources of their funding and if it aligns with their values and mission. Roller derby has always sat to the left of the mainstream, has been political and has been life-changing for people who don’t fit in a binary. Sport will always be political and so it should be, with the ability to shape and grow our culture and our identity. 06.01.2022 We have space for 6 more young people in our Junior Roller Hockey Term 4 Program. It doesn't start for a few weeks yet and numbers will be capped, so they get good gameplay time ;) If you are aged 10-17 and can skate OK, then sign up!
