25.01.2022 ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS A HEALTHY MOUTH Meet George, a sweet tempered little guy who came to us with severe periodontal disease. He had bad breath, infected gums and some of his teeth were loose. George required a full mouth extraction. That’s right, we removed every single tooth. It was a huge job, but very necessary.... George’s mouth is all healed up, the oral disease is gone and now he is back to living his fullest life. All without the pain in his mouth. Follow along for more information on full mouth extractions. Dental disease is serious. If you need some advice on the state of your pet’s teeth, call for an appointment on 3208 9233 or book online. #fullmouthextractions #dentaldisease #petdentistry #veterinarydentistry #dentalxray #noteethnoworries #albertanimalhospital
24.01.2022 Some good points here. However, please note we do not recommend putting your puppy on the ground at parks until 10 days after this last vaccination to ensure they are protected.
24.01.2022 CALENDARS ARE HERE!! It's one of our favourite times of the year! The annual Albert Animal Hospital Calendar has just landed! This calendar is our biggest yet showing off 159 of of our beautiful patients. ... It is such a joy seeing our patients out and about or just lazing at home. These calendars are the same great quality and A3 size of previous years, and as per usual given out freely. We do want to ensure everyone can get one, so we do limit numbers. See more
20.01.2022 NO TEETH? NO WORRIES. Sometimes pets require all of their teeth removed. Yes that’s right. Every. Single. Tooth. It sounds scary, but in a small number of patients it is necessary, and for a good reason. Not all teeth can be saved. The pain and infection in your pet’s mouth can cause problems not only in the mouth, but can cause damage in other organs.... Bacteria and toxins from the mouth can go for a joy ride through the bloodstream and cause harm to your pet’s heart, liver and kidneys. HOW WILL HE BE ABLE TO EAT? For starters, have you ever seen a cat chew? They don’t. Well not well anyway. If you’ve ever seen your cat vomit up those bikkies, you’ll see that they’ve hardly been chewed. Dogs can also eat perfectly fine with no teeth. Once the gums heal from oral surgery, your pet will be happily eating normally without any dental pain. In fact, chewing on hard biscuits can help maintain a strong jaw Dental disease is serious. If you need some advice on the state of your pet’s teeth, call for an appointment on 3208 9233 or book online. #fullmouthextractions #dentaldisease #petdentistry #veterinarydentistry #dentalxray #noteethnoworries #albertanimalhospital

08.01.2022 WHAT WILL MY PET LOOK LIKE WITH NO TEETH? Chances are, you won’t even notice they have no teeth unless you go looking. If all of your pet’s teeth have been removed, their tongue may poke out of their mouths a little. This is to be expected as there are no teeth holding it back.... We understand it can be worrisome if your pet needs oral surgery. However, once they have been treated they will have have a pain-free mouth and no more bad breath. Dental disease is serious. If you need some advice on the state of your pet’s teeth, call for an appointment on 3208 9233 or book online. #fullmouthextractions #dentaldisease #petdentistry #veterinarydentistry #dentalxray #noteethnoworries #albertanimalhospital
