24.01.2022 This is Laura Vaughan @lauraplaystheviol my exceedingly talented wife and this Friday night she has a concert. Yep, a SOLO concert at the Melbourne Digital Concert Hall of wondeful viola da gamba music. You may mot have heard of the instrument (its from the baroque) and there is some truely exquisit music she is performing however during this pandemic Laura has lost practically all her performance work except for this concert and one other at the amazing Melbourne Digital Concert Hall. 19.01.2022 Well this has been a while coming and with everything being quiet i finally had a chance to work this! I really love working with the team at Latitude 37 as they give me the chance to create and I appreciate it, they are like family and in fact one of them is family! Almost every year we do a shoot and it seems like every other year I have an idea that is more "involved" - 2019 was an involved year. I wanted to do something Hitchockian and this is my hommage to North by Nort...hwest - took me more than a little while to find this location honestly there are amazing places here in Victoria. This has absolutely nothing to do with Baroque music, l just loved the idea. 14.01.2022 May the fourth be with you! This was shot for KeepCup @keepcup a little while ago and I remembered that I had this sitting around and perfect for today! This shoot sticks in my head because to get the prop ( the Millennium Falcon) used in the background I had to buy it off my brother, yep. 13.01.2022 I have been meaning to post this for a week or weeks but time and... This is my wrapped in plastic vanitas that I did last year finally printed and in a frame, printed and framed by the wonderful Format Framing @formatframing - cant speak highly enough of their service, it is amazing - I have more to show off soon. This idea had been brewing in my head for a while and I had a day off and took the time to do this shot, idle hands etc. So without getting up on my high horse to...o much, I just cant stand the idea of having "fresh" "organic" produce pre packaged in plastic, it dont make sense. Enough said...for now. 09.01.2022 This was a lot of fun to create and is one in a series, I will post over the next weeks, that made at the start of the year and I figure it can be shown now. It was made with a fairly free breif in mind, something about the nexus of movement (exercise) and mindfulness - or something like that. Exercise is extremely important to me and the brief piqued my interest, however it got me thinking about the head spaces that we can find ourselves in when we are exercising, especiall...y during sports - how even in a crowded space (a city) one can be totally alone (or free from distraction - all in your perspective) This series is the exploration of that idea.
