23.01.2022 With our community at risk of having one of its highest rates of youth unemployment in years, this program could not have come at a better time. Thank you to Cr John Logan for your tireless advocacy to see this program get up. Thanks also go to Ian Goodenough for your support in gaining a Federal Government grant to help deliver this.
23.01.2022 It was such an honour today to be able to officially open the new, dedicated home of Granparents Rearing Grandchildren WA (GRGWA) at the Citys Grove facility in Warwick. I am always inspired and moved by the dedication of members of this association and the work they are doing for their families makes a massive difference in our community. I hope that having a home of their own will mean that their membership continues to grow because I know there are many grandparents in th...e northern corridor raising their grandchildren. If you know someone who is rearing their grandchildren, please encourage them to make contact with GRGWA. https://www.grandparentsrearinggrandchildren.org.au/
22.01.2022 Shout out to the Village Hut Cafe in Woodvale - great store, great coffee!
22.01.2022 Handy for the holidays! Looking for something to do with the family? Check out some of our amazing rides, including around the lakes or along the coast - now with these handy stations being installed to assist if you need some tools, or to pump up a tyre.
21.01.2022 Great to see this lifesaving initiative being rolled out at key community and sporting facilities in the City of Joondalup. To make the most out of this program, I will also take this opportunity to encourage as many local residents as possible to undertake an accredited first aid course - so they are prepared and confident to respond if need be. I want to acknowledge and thank Cr Logan who initially proposed this program and has championed it all the way to this roll-out.
21.01.2022 Great to see one of the most popular elements of the original concept (the ocean pool) being included back into the project on the day construction commencement is announced.

12.01.2022 A big Saturday morning in Joondalup. Open day at the newly refurbished Bethanie Warwick retirement village followed by Poynter Primary Markets and then catching up with British TV presenter and author Dr Michael Mosley at Hillarys Boat Harbour for his public health event - plus a film crew from SBS documenting his tour. Finally, I’ll be on 6PR at 3:45 talking about NAIDOC week on the City of Joondalup.
12.01.2022 After a season like no other - it is great to join Mullaloo SLSC tonight to recognize some of our amazing local volunteers. We are so grateful for the service to our community from our local surf clubs. Hard to believe its only 2 months till the beach patrol season starts again.
12.01.2022 In response to a number of requests raised with me earlier this year - the Council will explore bringing this event back to the streets of Joondalup.
12.01.2022 I am receiving a number of queries on this project due to some surprise last minute campaigns of opposition from certain groups. Anyone who has followed my time as a local representative for the past 14+ years should know that this has always been a project which I have ran on a platform of supporting. I keep my word to my community - so it should not surprise anyone that I will continue to give my full support to seeing this project become a reality.
11.01.2022 Well done to all of this years entrants - one of the largest exhibitions of recent years.
10.01.2022 Happy Monday - works have started on the new foreshore carpark at Burns Beach.
10.01.2022 I know this is having an impact for some of our local residents and we are sorry for any disruption. On the other hand, the building and layout are certainly in need of of some work and I am also looking forward to seeing how the facility comes up after its makeover.
10.01.2022 In this years Council budget we introduced a new program to progressively revitalize older parks and make sure they meet the changing needs of their surrounding community. - Newcombe, in Padbury is one of the first parks being looked at under this program and we would love to hear your feedback below...
09.01.2022 Some big news to start the day today!! Could not have come at a better time for the Joondalup community - approximately 8,000 local jobs over the construction period and 900 permanent ongoing local jobs! Thank you to the local associations based onsite too - this would never have gotten to where it has today if not for the diligence and support of Ocean Reef Sea Sports Club, Marine Rescue Whitfords and the Joondalup RSL - so it is great to see the governments further commitment today of $6.5m to provide you all with new and improved facilities in the heart of this project!
09.01.2022 Thanks to the efforts of our local Friends Groups, many of our natural bushland areas are looking spectacular at this time of year. The City is also looking at more opportunities to invest in facilitating responsible universal access for residents to be able to enjoy these spaces as as a great way to get back to nature, close to home.

03.01.2022 The people creating and spreading these false claims about Percy Doyle Reserve ought to be ashamed of themselves- they are deliberately deceiving and causing anxiety for local residents. Why?
