We know you’ve got big voices we can hear across the footy field so share the link with your friends and family and let’s keep this awesome momentum going! Your signature will help us to demand action from Parks Victoria. The two things we are asking for are: 1. Guaranteed preseason allocations for oval 1 for the 12 weeks we are forced to relocate due to the Formula One - February...-May. 2. A commitment from Parks Victoria to do major drainage and ground works to Oval 20 to ensure the oval recovers quicker from the Formula One and remains in a playable state throughout the year. We need a commitment that those works will be completed within 24 months. 14.01.2022 A good story from Port Phillip Leader and Leader Local Footy on the issues that our small club faces in dealing with Parks Victoria. Our club has spent $65k in just the last five years alone on improving a community-owned asset, along with all the working bees and the hours on hours we put in for all to enjoy, but we get no support from the State Department who manages it. Parks Victoria has shown a complete disregard for local sporting clubs in the Albert Park precinct and... the work small clubs do into the facilities. We are a growing club with a growing footprint but we are limited by our basic facilities. The two things we are asking for are - 1. Guaranteed preseason allocations for oval 1 for the 12 weeks we are forced to relocate due to the Formula One - February-May. 2. A commitment from Parks Victoria to do major drainage and ground works to Oval 20 to ensure the oval recovers quicker from the Formula One and remains in a playable state throughout the year. We need a commitment that those works will be completed within 24 months. The Albert Park Falcons have decided not to spend any more of its money on improving the facility, while our oval is in, and continues to be in, such a poor condition each year. Reporting to the Executive Committee, the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate strong leadership and communication qualities in the development and progression of the playing group. Key coaching objectives include:... - Development of the football strategy and deployment in support of the Clubs on-field and off-field success - A leading role in player retention, player recruitment and skills development Relationship management with internal and external club stakeholders The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following: - The desire and drive for personal and team success, with a focus to lead the Club into higher divisions of the VAFA - Excellent interpersonal skills, including leadership and communication in driving the culture of the players, support staff and the Club generally - Knowledge and experience as a coach in the development of game plans, training techniques and player skills to support objectives - Ability to identify and recruit new players and officials to the Club, including support staff as required - An outgoing personality, engaging with members, sponsors, VAFA and local football media to promote the Club and its brand Applications clearly setting out appropriate qualifications and experience should be submitted to [email protected] All applications received will be handled in strict confidence. Footy has been a huge escape for a lot of us so having that taken away (along with the rest of our freedom) has proven to be really difficult both physically & mentally. His chat could not have come at a better time so we thank him for reminding us of the importance to look after our mental health. For any of those ne...eding further assistance, please make sure to get in touch with Caroline as she'll endeavour to get Todd & the team to reach out directly. They will be able to provide critical mental health education & welfare support. Please remember to not only check in with yourself, but also those around you.
