23.01.2022 [Budapest to Bamako 2016] We stopped off at Zagora and found a sign that said 52 days by camel to Timbuktu (not the actual sign but a copy of it) - Absorbing the differences in architecture and environment along the way -... This is around the time when we accepted that we got ripped off in London when we got the car serviced as they didnt fix the aircon and learnt to love the desert sand - It took us longer than we expected to drive around 430km from Merzouga to Erg Chigaga and ended up driving at night to our camp in the dunes! No road or lights to lead the way, just gps coordinates, your cb radio and our convoy. Needless to say it was an interesting drive See more
