23.01.2022 Albie has been having a rough time in hospital lately. He always has plenty of family around him to keep a smile on his face

23.01.2022 Albie got out of hospital earlier this week, but not without getting a new tube.. Albie now has a Nasogastric tube to give him extra feeds to help him have the energy and nutrition to fight Leukemia. To make it a bit more fun, Dad went and got some parts to make an awesome mobile stand to hang his tube/feeding gear on. Thanks to the guys at Team Moto Marooka for donating the essential bits AND Toby Price for the signature on his number plate ... Albie absolutely loves it!! TeamMoto Motorcycles Toby Price Racing

11.01.2022 We are so excited by many of our friends and family doing this ride for childhood cancer research. We are especially behind Damo, he and his family have personally done so much to make our journey through this difficult time, a little easier. Please get behind Damo and donate to this great cause. No amount is too small, and every cent counts. Too many children are fighting cancer, and the treatment is just as scary as the diagnosis.. research is the only way to change this. Please help in our fight against kids cancer

11.01.2022 Albie has loved receiving 'get well' cards from all his school friends today, which were brought up to hosp by pastor Kathrin. Thank you also Kathrin for all the frozen home cooked dinners.

06.01.2022 Most would know how much Albie LOVES Mcloeds Daughters. We watch it all together every night and it's something that Albie really looks forward to. 06.01.2022 This is an exercise in de-sensitizing Albie to having his PICC dressings changed. Albie got to put the dressings on his sisters then said 'Let the pain begin '

05.01.2022 Not a great start to the September school holidays when Albie was admitted to hospital for a chest infection. After 5 days he was discharged home where he spent the entire holidays in lock down at home as he was severely neutropenic and having grumbling tummy pain. Three days ago the tummy pain became excruciating and we took a Albie to the ED and after 24hrs of horrible back/tummy pain and multiple scans, he passed a kidney stone. Apparently this can happen with Leukemia kids on steroids. Anyway, he has since had unrelated abnormal blood cultures so we are still chilling in hospital but hopefully out tomorrow if today’s bloods return negative and he has a second dose of ceftriaxine. 05.01.2022 We got a visit from Albies school friends yesterday... Noah, Cruz and Ruby.. and Camilla brought the cream in a can to make Albie laugh..

02.01.2022 Today marks two and a half years since Albie was diagnosed with leukemia. Today also marks the last day Albie will swallow chemotherapy... Due to international changes in Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia protocol, boys no longer need three and a half years of treatment. This change was only made known to us last month, so as you can imagine, our worlds have been rocked!! Finishing treatment a whole year earlier then expected has been mind blowing. After spending months living i...n Brisbane’s leukemia Village and pediatric wards... weeks in PICU at QCH and SCUH... countless hours having chemo, lumber puncture, port accessing, blood tests, surgery, ECGS, CTs, MRIs, X-rays.. drs rooms, ED departments, a flight with RFDS, helicopter retrieval, 1000’s of tablets, sleepless nights and dread no parent should ever endure... it’s all coming to an end Albie will still be immunosuppressed for the next 3 months and will take medication to keep him healthy while his bodies immunity kicks back in. Then in March he will have his port-a-cath removed. He will then have blood tests every 6 weeks for the next 12 months. The next 2 years Albie is at a high risk of relapse, but we can’t think about that. We can only do everything in our power to keep him healthy, fit and happy. Thank you so much for the support we have received from family, friends and strangers I have been reduced to tears on many occasions by the beautiful and selfless acts of kindness.. never ever to be forgotten. We are so very grateful to live in a country with such brilliant healthcare services. The oncologists Albie was assigned are pure brilliance, which was lucky because we had to put our full trust in them to save our little boy. The nurses amazing.. they always have to be on the ball as one tiny mistake can mean so much. We now consider them our friends, and I can see how much they love and care for Albie. So grateful Last but not least I want to say something about Albies strength throughout this ordeal. In The beginning we had to chase Albie around the unit, begging and bribing him to swallow tablets. Sometimes this took over an hour.... he was pushed around in his bubble (bicycle cart) and often could not be coaxed out.. he could be heard yelling in hospital hallways and nurses knew when he was in the house they had their work cut out. At the height of his sickness, his beloved nanny passed away. He was a scared and frustrated little boy.. Today Albie is a strong and resilient little man. He has grown far beyond his years. No words can express how proud we are to be your parents.

02.01.2022 If you don't know what to do for Amie or the family, please consider donating what you can to help make things a little easier. https://www.gofundme.com/47xqm9c

02.01.2022 Happy 7th birthday Albie

01.01.2022 Congratulations to Toby on his second Dakar rally win, all done with a broken wrist! What a national hero. Toby came to visit Albie in his early stages of treatment for leukemia, and gave him a huge boost! Not many people would take time out of there busy schedule to do this, but he did... and on crutches!!! On the weekend Albie got back in his KTM. First time since his diagnosis. There were lots of tears (all mine) but Albie rode with his cousins like he had never had a da...y off. So very proud, of my little man How great is it that Albie and kids all over Australia and the world have such an awesome fella to look up to and strive to be like #respect #albiesroadtorecovery #tobypriceracing
