21.01.2022 Meet Rose the #NoShowScarecrow put together by the Showgirl team. If you’ve been travelling around our region you may have noticed scarecrows popping up here and there. This initiative was started by the Agricultural Societies Council of NSW Ltd to show solidarity and support those shows like ours that unfortunately had to cancel in 2020. Rose will be outside Enchanted Florist on Tongarra road who is one of our Showgirl Competition Sponsors. Pop in and say G'day!... ASC of NSW Next Generation #bestinshow #NoShowScarecrow #Showgirl
20.01.2022 "My personal ambition is to see the setup of regional Next Generation groups, which facilitate the development programs for the youth involved in agriculture an...d particularly the show movement." 2020 Rural Achiever, Ryan McParland says is his ambition for Regional Communities. Born into a dairy farming family it was only natural that Ryan McParland would spend his early years as a dairy hand. Ryan set strong community roots early on, always making time for his local Show Society as an exhibitor, committee member, steward, coordinator and founding member of the Shows Youth in ag group. Ryan’s interests in the agriculture industry range from beef and dairy cattle to poultry and produce, as well as working to build a community youth group for all of the South Coast and Tablelands to connect youth in agriculture. Stay tuned as we meet the rest of our 2020 Rural Achievers this week. #RASNSW #Youthinag

13.01.2022 The Albion Park Show society has made the difficult decision to cancel the annual Albion Park Show for 2021. In its absence, the society will be holding an Exhibition of Agriculture on Saturday 16 January 2020. The Exhibition will be a COVID Safe event which will celebrate our wonderful agricultural community here in the Illawarra and surrounding areas, and expose the broader community to the finer details of agricultural & livestock exhibition. While bushfires and COVID-19 h...ave impacted our ability to hold the show as we know and love it, we look forward to coming back bigger and better than ever in 2022. To check out the full schedule of events for the "Exhibition of Agriculture" download the pdf and the following link or jump on our website: www.albionpark.show https://drive.google.com//1fF99UPleU2HLWGTG2SsyWPYz9/view STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE "EXHIBITION OF AGRICULTURE" *Note: We are a small show society run by volunteers. While we understand this decision may be disappointing to a number of people, please remember to be respectful when commenting on/or engaging with our posts.*

10.01.2022 EXCITING NEWS - MILTON SHOW IS ON The Milton Show Society are excited to let the community know that the 2020 Milton Show will go ahead on the 6th and 7th Ma...rch 2020! After a horrific season for our entire community we are happy to announce that the Show can go ahead as planned with all major attractions and events still a goer!! Many in our committe, as well as many of our sponsors and donors have been directly affected by the fires. However despite the challenges, a unanimous vote at our recent meeting decided that the best little show on the coast will still be presented for our community to enjoy. Our hope is that traditions will be held, strength will be found, happiness will be delivered, support will be offered, celebrations will be had and our community, along with its visitors will have a wonderful time celebrating our rural roots, our beautiful town and the resilient, brave and incredible people within it. Some key points to try to answer common questions we have received recently: - The show will still be held in full on 6th and 7th March 2020. - All sections are going ahead. - Entry fees will stay as previously advertised. - We have donated to our awesome friends at Treading Lightly who are going to assist fire affected local families and individuals most in need so that they can still enjoy the show this year. - Our committe are working super hard despite their own personal losses and experiences to still pull off one helluva show. - We have a plan to use our Grand Parade to celebrate all who have contributed to saving and restoring our community as well as to celebrate our communities strength and awesomeness. - We need your support. Be positive. Back us. Help out where you can. We have been through this rough trot too, but we hope the show aides strongly in the towns recovery. - PM us with any concerns and we will do our best to address them. - We GUARANTEE it will be the BEST Milton Show so far this decade .
09.01.2022 This week is National Volunteers Week... and there's no sector in Australia with more volunteer hours than the agricultural show movement. 1.56 million hours are volunteered to make 580 shows across the nation tick. The average volunteer donates 121 hours annually. There are more than 12,000 country show volunteers in Australia, with shows requiring an average of 2694 volunteer hours in preparation for their annual show.... Thanks to the many volunteers who make the Show possible!!
