04.01.2022 A STORY OF SURRENDER PART SEVEN (FINAL) A Saga in Seven Steps told by our Cat Surrender and Adoption Coordinator. "An ongoing journey and a bittersweet succes...s." Well, we’ve made it! The seventh step of our saga! You’re probably wondering what happened to the cats? 10 x cats have now been desexed, with 5 more booked in, with the rest to follow. 3 x cats desexed and returned to their family. 7 x cats currently available for ADOPTION and looking for special new homes. 4 x cats still being rehabilitated. Making steady progress. 1 x mumma cat and her 5 kittens are with a foster carer, dedicated to their growing needs and preparing them for their now, bright futures. And.... one special cat has already been adopted and is settling into its new home! Enjoy forever Oscar! Thank you to Janette Watts for giving this special boy a second chance. We still remember with sadness the one we had to farewell. There is still a long road ahead ensuring the remaining 25 cats all receive a happy ending like Oscar and endeavor to help the public become CatWise - watch out for more info coming soon! Thank you for coming along on this journey. Although we’re stopping here, their story will keep on going! And, YOU can be a part of their story too! We’re looking for special people to ADOPT our special cats; people who are ready to put in a bit extra to finish their rehabilitation so they can live a happy and fulfilled life. You can see them as they become available on www.adoptapet.com.au (select NSW Albury as the location), or call 0403 950 222. I now leave you with the words of Mahathma Gandhi - Be the change you wish to see in the world.
03.01.2022 SPECIAL ADOPTION Meet Chance: A cat that came to us very much by chance. A truly sweet loving boy couldn’t have been any further down on his luck. He had a woun...d on his cheek that became infested with maggots. The problem was just too much for his carers alone and he needed much more than they could give. Thankfully, they called us for help. That very same day we collected Chance, tended to his wounds and began immediate treatment. If his wounds had been left unchecked for much longer, Chance may have needed to be euthanised. Luckily, we had other options. He has had surgery on his cheek and in just 9 days, looks like a new cat and is one of the most affectionate and appreciative cats we have had the pleasure of meeting. If you would like to support the RSPCA Albury to help other cats like Chance (he has not been the only one to need this help this year and won't be the last) find a new and better life, you can do so by donating directly to our local branch or by adopting (once he is ready he will be desexed, vaccinated and microchipped). Donations: Albury RSPCA BSB: 732736 Account: 070611 Reference: Chance Adopt Please email expressions of interest to adopt Chance to [email protected] or call 0447 367 837. All support is greatly appreciated and we will update you all as Chance continues to thrive. RN 251000223
