16.01.2022 We know how stressful it can be when your kid takes a tumble. We are always here to help! Please call us or send a photo of your concern through to our social pages and we will take a look! Every week we see worried parents like you, and often unphased happy children like this! This handsome young lad ran into his cousins head about 2 weeks ago. He is not in pain, but is having trouble eating an apple and Mum noticed this week that the tooth is starting to change colour. ... So she rang us to take a look. Good work Mum! So what should you look for when you think your child has knocked a tooth? Broken, chipped or cracked teeth Lacerations to lip or tongue A change to eating or drinking habits that last longer than a week Discoloration of a tooth/teeth (This usually doesn’t occur right away. It can take weeks, sometimes even years for the trauma to the tooth to present) If you see any of these changes, contact us to take a look. Thankfully treatment may not always be required, but we can take records and make sure we keep a close monitor for changes over time.

11.01.2022 Did you know a single kiss can transfer as much as 80 million bacteria?! We aren’t born with cavity causing bacteria present in our mouths.... It is introduced via: -kissing ... -sharing food, drinks and utensils -checking the temperature/ trying babies food & bottles prior to giving to them -cleaning babies dummy by putting it in your mouth first Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus are the bacteria that cause holes in our teeth. The more of this bacteria present- the more at risk of decay your teeth are! Make sure your loved ones and kissing partners are up to scratch before putting yourself at risk too! Book yourself or your loved one in if you are due/overdue or have untreated cavities in your mouth! Ways to reduce this bacteria Brush twice daily with a fluoride paste Floss or clean interdentally (not doing this means you’re missing 35% of your tooth surfaces! Brushing AND FLOSSING goes hand in hand) Brush your tongue! Drink lots of water Regular check ups and cleans Ensure your teeth don’t have any untreated decay! Get those holes fixed! 09.01.2022 Today Emma and Jackie visited some very excited and eager to learn kids at Community Kids in Lavington! We taught them about good oral hygiene habits + with a grown up helping healthy and sometimes foods that make our teeth happy and sad... The kids had fun and all got a showbag to take home to show Mum and Dad! Preschool visits are the best!
