We have full time availability or are happy to have a few new people join us if you want to do a few days - it might suit someone who wants a base in both states if you are already set up in Vic? We need someone experienced, caring and wanting a great work environment - we will support your initiatives to make a better clinic for everyone.... 21.01.2022 Humans have a total of 24 ribs, set out in 12 pairs. The ribs form a protective cage around our vital organs, including the heart, lungs and liver. The ribs are also an important part of our breathing. There are three main types of ribs: True ribs - these attach directly to the chest bone (aka sternum) False ribs - these attach indirectly to the chest bone via pieces of cartilage at the front of the rib cage Floating ribs - these literally ‘float’ at the back of our bod...ies and have no extension to the front. And breathe. Now who knew this fact already? #osteo #osteopathy #ribs #ribcage

21.01.2022 De Quervain’s tenosynovitis is a condition that affects the thumb and your ability to use your hand properly. In tenosynovitis, a thin sheath that surrounds the tendon of some of the thumb muscles becomes inflamed, leading to pain, restriction and reduced function of the thumb and hand. See your osteo today if you have thumb or wrist pain. Remember we have invested in our sockwave RPW which is specifically designed for tendinopathies and we get great results for a number of issues. #osteo #osteopathy #dequervains #tenosynovitis

19.01.2022 Out-toeing is when a child’s feet are excessively turned outward. This can occur due to an abnormal outward twist in the thigh bone, which directly affects the positioning of the knee and foot. Other causes can be from an abnormal twist in the shin bone, flat feet or over-contracted muscles in the hip region. Noticed your child has outward pointing feet? Book an appointment today so we can assess them and get them on the straight and narrow asap! #osteo #osteopathy #outtoeing

19.01.2022 We often get asked, are growing pains real? The answer is yes. Although there is no evidence to support ‘growth’ as a painful thing to experience, some children going through growth spurts can experience intermittent pain in the legs, often affecting them at nighttime. Sometimes the pain is enough to even wake them from their sleep. If you have concerns about your child, please call us today on 0260 413 606 to book an appointment. #osteo #osteopathy #osteopath #growingpains

10.01.2022 November’s word of the month is ‘Coeliac’ (pron. see-lee-ac). Coeliac is the name given to a disease where people are unable to tolerate gluten in their diet. Gluten is a protein found in wheat products, as well as barley and rye. Coeliac disease leads to damage of the lining of the small intestine which then leads to poor nutrient absorption by the body (aka malnutrition). This condition affects both sexes and all ages. If you’re coeliac and have a delicious gluten-free recipe recommendation, please share #osteo #osteopathy #wordofthemonth #coeliacdisease

People at risk of, or those that have osteoporosis may require a DEXA scan every now and then to check their levels and determine the severity of bone loss, which leaves our bones more prone to fractures. DEXA = Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry Now that’s a mouthful! #osteo #osteopathy #DEXAscan
