14.01.2022 Good morning Albury Some good rain overnight with the Bureau of Meteorology official rain gauge showing about 77mm (57mm of that since 8:00pm). The forecast today is for more rain, depending on which forecast model you look at it could be from 30-70mm with occasional heavy falls which could lead to flash flooding.... Please drive carefully on wet roads and never walk, drive or play in flood water. If you require SES assistance due to storm or flood call 132500. For life threatening emergencies always call 000. Issued at 3:12 pm Tuesday, 3 March 2020. HEAVY RAIN WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY.FOR PARTS OF INLAND AND SOUTH-EAST NSW. Weather Situation: Ex-Tropical Cyclone Esther is approaching New South Wales, deepening a trough over the western inland. Esther is expected to enter north-west NSW during Wednesday, moving over the south-east of the state on Thursday, intensifying rainfall over parts of inland and south-east NSW as it crosses. HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING may develop across parts of inland and southeast New South Wales later Wednesday and during Thursday. Parts of the Upper Western, Lower Western, Riverina, Lower Central West, Southern Slopes, Snowy Mountains, Southern Tablelands and Australian Capital Territory may be affected. Localised higher totals are likely to be exacerbated by thunderstorms, which are most likely from Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. Heavy rainfall over elevated parts of the warning area may result in localised landslips. Issued at 11:48 am Monday, 20 January 2020. SEVERE THUNDERSTORM OUTBREAK ACROSS SOUTHERN NSW A low pressure system over inland New South Wales is drawing humid air across eastern parts of the state causing widespread thunderstorm activity. This system is expected to gradually move to the Tasman Sea later tonight. Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce damaging winds, large hailstones and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours. Locations which may be affected include Newcastle, Gosford, Sydney, Wollongong, Nowra, Batemans Bay, Orange, Canberra, Goulburn, Dubbo, Wagga Wagga and Albury. Yanco AWS recorded 25mm of rainfall in the 30 minutes to 8:30am. 03.01.2022 The NSW SES is monitoring the ever changing situation in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. The safety and well-being of our members, and the wider community is our highest priority. The NSW SES is implementing a number of measures to ensure the continuity of our operations and support our volunteers.... Following advice from NSW Health, participation in non-essential community events, large meetings and ceremonies will be suspended. Volunteer training will be scaled back, but essential training will continue to maintain operational readiness. The NSW SES will continue to support communities become better prepared for severe weather events, and respond to communities in need over the coming months.
