15.01.2022 RAIDERS v KNIGHTS IN WAGGA WAGGA Canberra Raiders will play Newcastle Knights in a National Rugby League premiership match at Wagga Wagga’s McDonald’s Park on 8... May next year. Council and the Raiders confirmed the NRL’s commitment to the Wagga Wagga fixture in 2021 in the full season draw to be released this morning. The announcement marks the return of elite sporting events to the city after the cancellation of this year’s NRL game between the Raiders and Knights in April due to the pandemic. The game is scheduled for a 3pm kick-off on the day after the running of the Wagga Wagga Gold Cup, potentially providing the city with a weekend sporting bonanza expected to draw thousands to the region. 13.01.2022 Life Members Awarded Congratulations to Nyree Sarkis and David Cunningham who were awarded life membership awards, acknowledging the huge contribution they have made to ATJRL Club over the years. The award was presented by ATJRL Club President, Scott Harris at the recent Annual General Meeting (AGM). Nyree has been involved in the club for approximately 13 years. During her time with ATJRL Nyree has been appointed to many roles including Team Manager, General Committee Mem...ber, Registrar and Club Secretary. Nyree is always willing to put her hand up and help out wherever she can. Nyree is a fantastic lady with a great family that are a prime example of what our club is about Congratulations Nyree! David has been involved with the club for approximately 15 years. During his time with ATJRL David has been in almost all roles from Water boy to Club President, Vice President, Secretary, Coach, Team Manager, General Committee Member and too many other roles to name! Dave has been a massive contributor to our club with a passion for our great game and the best interest of all our kids at heart as well as being instrumental in the redevelopment of our club rooms with through Albury City. David is an all-round great guy and we have all learnt so much from him over the years - Congratulations David!
