17.01.2022 20 years ago today my sister in law Joanna and I opened the doors to Albyn Cottage! Joanna gave 13 years of her love and dedication to the centre before she moved on. I will be forever grateful for the years we worked together. Albyn cottage has exceeded my expectations beyond belief. Our philosophy states a home away from home and that has never and will never change! I have met strangers who entrusted us with their precious children whom became family! The years have a...bsolutely flown by (surely I haven’t aged 20 yrs). I have had the honour of attending 3 weddings of children I have looked after and beyond honoured that past children are still in my life. As I explained to the children today as I was thanking them- the centre is nothing without them. Each and every child has left an impression in my heart and I am forever grateful to have spent time loving, guiding and teaching them. If I taught them anything it was definitely that they are loved, unique and very special! To all our current and past parents, THANK YOU for your ongoing support, choosing and trusting Albyn Cottage! There is nothing I wouldn’t do for any of our families. To all educators past and present, thank you for your input in building Albyn Cottage. You are all very much appreciated and the centre wouldn’t run without you! Also, thank you to Bexley Public school for their partnership in leading and guiding our children. Lastly, thank you to my gorgeous children and husband who have been very patient and supportive throughout the 20yrs! I am feeling very blessed that I am part of this amazing community and look forward to another 20 yrs! Lots of love to you all! Unfortunately we couldn’t celebrate the way I would’ve hoped to due to COVID 19 but we tried our best by celebrating the whole week. We have built a stage/platform and refilled our sandpit with new sand! We gave it a test run this afternoon and the children were thrilled!

16.01.2022 Reminder: Dear Families If you received Child Care Subsidy (CCS) for 2018-19, you must confirm your income with Centrelink. This includes CCS paid directly to you and CCS paid on your behalf to a child care provider.... Most parents have already confirmed their income, but if you haven’t, do it now. If you don’t confirm your 2018-19 income by 30 June 2020, your CCS will stop from 13 July 2020. To confirm your income with Centrelink, you and your partner need to either: lodge your tax returns with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) complete an ‘Advise non-lodgement of tax return’ with Centrelink, if you don’t need to lodge a tax return. You complete the ‘Advise non-lodgement of tax return’ in your Centrelink online account through myGov or your Express Plus Centrelink mobile app. If you’ve already confirmed your family income for 2018-19, there’s nothing else you need to do. Find out more about Child Care Subsidy on the Services Australia website.

13.01.2022 Dear families, Childcare subsidies. The DESE advised on the 30th of June that CCS hourly and annual caps would be resetting on the 12th of July; It has been identified that the annual caps, although still showing estimations and calculations for the previous year, have reset and families that had reached their annual cap were now being subsidised for Thursday and Friday’s sessions;... The CCS team have now advised that the previously published information was incorrect. Allowable absences and annual caps reset on the 1st of July; However, when querying entitlements, CCS is relying upon the previous financial year’s information. As a result, rolls have been calculated with incorrect or no subsidy amounts for this current week (and future weeks). What Happens Next: The CCS team at Centrelink have been notified of this issue; Until this information is fixed, entitlements will be calculated incorrectly. However, they will return with subsidy after sessions have been submitted and finalised; There may be discrepancies when billing families, particularly for services who charge families in advance. QikKids has reported these instances directly to CCSS as a matter of urgency; CCSS will issue correspondence once this issue is fixed for services and families.
