The new design by Kosloff Architecture completely honours and compliments the existing building making it seamlessly flow together. We were honoured to construct this project for the VSBA in partnership with Kosloff, and build this new space for the school community. Using a combination of structural steel frame and timber frame structures to support a traditional brick facade, the new school seamlessly knits into the existing heritage structure. Thank you to Rory Daniel and David Collopy who captured the work of everyone involved on this project from start to finish. , , , , . The new space will support teaching practice and provides a 21st century learning environment and allows this heritage gem to perform perfectly for another 150 years. Melton Central Community Centre a hub of inter-cultural learning for Melton’s diverse community that promotes cohesion, learning and employment.... A key driver at Alchemy is to continually strive to exceed expectations, making the build process one everyone is proud of along the way. , - . ’ . . The project involved the construction of a two-storey building offering multipurpose audio-visual equipped spaces, kitchen and toilet amenities, interview rooms, meetings rooms, an interfaith space and parenting and family rooms. Significant civil and landscape works also took place, with the gardens outside starting to come to life in the Melbourne Spring weather. 08.01.2022 The steel frame starts to fill the skyline at Lifestyles Plumpton, as we construct and build the Clubhouse for the new Lifestyles community, designed by DKO Architecture. The final concrete pour is in for what will be the luxurious swimming pool on site. The curved structure has been designed to take cues from Aboriginal paintings which depicted groups gathered around a campsite and watering hole.... Once finished the facility will be the central hub for the new community with a huge range of facilities including; indoor and outdoor pools spas and steam rooms, cinema, gym, games room and extensive outdoor facilities and sports courts. 07.01.2022 - ? Our Founding Director Jamie’s former boss and mentor at DCWC. - ? I was working in a consultant capacity in construction but from a young age I always had dreams and ambitions to set up my own construction company. ... I used to sit up the back of University lectures drawing the logo and writing down ideas about how the company would operate and what I wanted to achieve. I spent many years as a Project Manager on a multitude of major construction ventures working in consultancy, and in the Higher Education space. I also worked with a building company in Glasgow and London at the start of my career. In 2015 it was a pivotal time to decide whether to make the leap back to the sharp end of building and start Alchemy Construct or stay where I was. I had two choices; to venture out on my own or to take a new role which had been offered to me in the company I was working for. On a night out and after a few drinks with my old boss telling him of my dilemma ‘ , .’ It stuck with me, it really solidified what I had felt about wanting to start out on my own, and having the support of someone I respected in the industry and a mentor, it was something which cemented my decision. A decision I have never regretted, in fact one of the best decisions of my life. - 1. Words are powerful. Sometimes it’s not until we look back that we realise the impact somebody’s words of encouragement have had on our future. 2. Back Yourself. If you have a strong belief or a passion for something you think you can do, back yourself and trust yourself to do it. 03.01.2022 Saturday morning at the Melbourne Town Hall. The sun came out as we photographed and filmed our Town Hall refurbishment which is handed over this week. We are blown away by the work of the full project team on this space. ... We will be allowed to share the pictures and film shortly. What an honour it has been to create a space not only for Council and sitting chamber of the City of Melbourne, but for the public with a new public Gallery Space and civic area.
