18.01.2022 Here’s another great author talk coming up! This is through the Facebook group ‘Your Kid’s Next Read’ - which is excellent for book suggestions for parents and teachers of children of all ages.

16.01.2022 The kids at Unley Primary School were thrilled to celebrate International Literacy Day today by placing picture books in special locations throughout their community. Check out the school's blog where they talk about promoting a love of reading and the importance of literacy education as a matter of dignity and human rights. https://unleyps.edublogs.org//08/fostering-a-love-of-read/ ... #internationalliteracyday2020 #aleaangels

03.01.2022 We're looking forward to International Literacy Day coming up on September 8. This message from one of our local council members, Amy Reid, is sure to excite the poets among us! --- Do you recognise Australia’s most prolific poet? This statue of CJ Dennis is in the pretty little town of Laura in the mid-north of SA, not far from where I grew up. At the foot of the statue rests a picture book (placed there with thanks to my Dad!) to help celebrate International Literacy Day,... coming up on September 8. Promoting a love of reading is at the heart of this initiative led by the Australian Literacy Educators’ Association in SA (ALEA). I’m proud to be a part of the ALEA SA local council, helping to promote literacy learning. Keep an eye out for beautiful books scattered around SA - left as a gift for those curious enough to take a look! #aleaangels #internationalliteracyday2020 See more

01.01.2022 To all of you who kept me company through the 2 am ember watches in the bushfires, and contributed so generously to the auctions, this book is for you. I wrote ...it the night I saw the Fire Wombat, and two days later Lisa at A&R had accepted it and commissioned the brilliant Danny Snell to turn it into a book. But it took another month before I knew how the story ended. I've never written a book on total impulse before, nor told an editor 'I have to publish this.' So this is her story, and yours too: The Fire Wombat. Just gone to print and preorders have opened. See more
