05.01.2022 NUTRITION TO FUEL YOUR WORKOUTS Diet should work in harmony with activity: your food should help build muscle and give you energy to explore all the amazing ways your body can move when youre fueling it properly theres no need to get totally fixated on protein. Protein should not be your chief source of calories, and you can get plenty of protein from a normal diet, even for muscle-building exercises. Definitely dont think you need to start paying for protein shakes!!...!!! they arent necessary and theyre definitely not ideal for optimal health Instead of wasting money on pre- and post-workout supplements my recommendation is : Eat plenty of high-quality animal and plant foods, and your protein needs are covered without worrying about timing or grams of anything. Instead of fixating on precise percentages of diet, a better rule of thumb is to play around with your own food and see what makes you feel best. Eat enough food; eat enough protein, fat, and carbohydrates without obsessing over any one of them, and spend your time thinking about more important things like how much fun youre having moving your body around and seeing what you can do. 01.01.2022 RUNNING IS MY MEDITATION I believe that running and meditation are linked. During and after a run I feel like I have meditated, particularly in beautiful natural surroundings. My breathing, foot placement and arm movement all get into a rhythm and my mind slowly starts to De stress with every step. I always say hi and smile at people as I run past them because I'm in a very happy place. You can use your running time to contemplate, think clearly and problem sol...ve too. I really urge you to run and spend that time on yourself. The benefits are enormous and it sets you up for the day. If you can't run you can walk, kayak ,swim, row, cycle, whatever it is that makes you happy. Just set that time aside for yourself and make it a routine and your life will be so much better. I look forward to smiling at you as you run past. See more
