Bringing #EachforEqual to life is about action, and action we had! 20.01.2022 What does International Women’s Day mean to you? For me, it means taking the time to: * be present with the girls and women I love, * nurture those (both men and women) who may need it, and... * be a role model for what’s possible. For me it means taking action towards a future that allows our children, grandchildren and so on to thrive. It is an everyday pursuit, but #iwd2020 puts it firmly front of mind so that every individual has an opportunity to stop and reflect, and do something that will create a meaningful step forward towards gender diversity, gender parity and gender equality. But it needs to mean something to you. Being able to honour my 2 daughters and 4 nieces in the dedication of my book, Meaning Matters: Results Beyond the Numbers" serves as a constant reminder of my responsibility to act. 12.01.2022 I reckon that one of the things hardest things about confidence is that you can’t learn it. It is lost easily and emerges slowly. One of the keys to accelerating the emergence of confidence is to create the circumstances and conditions around you that make you strong in both body and mind. That is why sport is and always has been such an important part of my life. I was reminded of this last night at our AFL Club AGM where one of my colleagues shared a couple of videos abou...t women in sport. It wasn’t the first time I’d seen it but I still had tears in my eyes as I watched in sadness, hope and pride. Sadness about the fact that this perception exists so unconsciously in all of us, hope that powerful videos like this exist to raise awareness and pride that we have an opportunity to directly contribute to the change. Without saying it, I reckon these were feelings shared with my peers in the room and emotion (of a pretty even mix of men and women) was palpable.
