14.01.2022 ALERA SA recently held its 2019 AGM. We were lucky to have Mr Michael Riches, Deputy Independent Commissioner against Corruption as the guest speaker. Michael delivered a very informative and timely seminar on the Public Disclosure Act 2019 (SA), which commenced on 1 July 2019. This legislation, which replaces the Whistleblowers Protection Act 1993 (SA), places responsibilities on persons who are principal officers and responsible officers in public sector agencies. Michael...’s presentation can be accessed here: https://www.irssa.asn.au//PID%20Presentation%20-%2027%20Au The AGM also marked the end of Kaye Smith’s presidency of ALERA SA. Kaye has made a significant contribution in this role, including co-ordinating the highly successful ALERA National Convention in 2018 and the ALERA SA State Convention in 2017. A big thanks to Kaye! With Kaye’s departure, Glen Seidel has commenced as ALERA SA President for 2019/20.

01.01.2022 Hello ALERA SA Members! The ALERA SA Management Committee is proud to launch the ALERA SA Facebook page :) ALERA SA formed in 1961 (as IRSSA) and was the second such group established in Australia (and closely followed the establishment of the first industrial relations society in New South Wales in 1958). ALERA SA today has grown to approximately 200 members drawn from unions, employers, governments, the State and Federal industrial tribunals, the legal profession, indust...rial relations consultants, human resource specialists and universities. As many of you would know, it is an organisation committed to fostering discussion, research and education in the field of industrial relations and employment matters more generally. Please stay tuned for posts about upcoming ALERA SA events and articles of interest...
