23.01.2022 We were called out to a property that had lost power. On inspection we found a loose Active cable which over time due to its a poor termination had melted behind the fuse. 22.01.2022 We were tasked with getting this council loading and holding area back up and running lighting wise. A run through of the facility found that almost 85% of lighting was faulty. We replaced all the existing single 36w fluros with LED fittings throughout with a greater wattage to help with the early morning setup.... 13.01.2022 SWITCHBOARD UPGRADE We received a call in regards to a loss of power to an apartment in St Kilda. On inspection we found the main switch had failed not allowing power through.... Given its an old fuse panel board there wasn't much else to do but upgrade it all to current electrical standards. New Main Switch, Combination Circuit breaker/ RCD's on all circuits, 4pole RCD and 3phase circuit breaker for the Aircon all fit into a new switchboard enclosure. Removing the old board left a pretty big hole so we custom built a timber box to allow the new board to mount to whilst keeping it at the front of the cupboard to stop anything from being stored in front of the switchboard. Upon opening the switchboard not only was the Main Switch burnt out due to a loose connection but we encountered whats commonly referred to as a "birdsnest" of wiring. Without hesitation we opted for a new switchboard enclosure and a complete rewire of the switchboard. A brand new Main Switch was installed and all exisiting circuits terminated into RCBO Safety Switches. We had the installation inspected by an independent inspector and got the of approval and the installation was signed off. Now this resident can sleep a little easier knowing their Switchboard is up to current standards and finished to a much higher quality than previously.
