09.01.2022 I love experimenting with making different essences. This is one I made yesterday in the Royal National Park, Sydney. It’s an essence created from running water, lepidolite, amethyst and obsidian crystals. The water was collected from the stream near a small waterfall and left to sit for several hours. You can see in the video the interplay between the running water of the stream and the water in the bowl. This energy of movement and flow becomes part of the essence. My initi...al impressions upon tuning into it is the quality of shifting resistance and stubbornness. For those people and times of life where they are stuck in a habitual pattern that’s detrimental to them, but they are very resistant to changing it. There’s a strong experience of frustration along with the resistance. The essence will help shift the stubbornness and allow the person to understand the fear that’s underlying it, then free up all the energy being used to resist, into taking steps to change the behavioural pattern. 07.01.2022 I came across this wonderful orchid on my last trip to the Royal National Park. It’s Sping and so many plants are in flower already. I love this plant, it’s pretty well camouflaged so you have to be paying attention to see it, but once I did then I saw so many of them. It’s botanic name is Pterostylis nutans - the nodding greenhood orchid. I couldn’t resist making an essence with this flower. Because I’m very conscious of how many species are in danger, I made this with a ‘...no pick’ method where the flower is bent into the water (see the second image). I also feel this method means the flower doesn’t die in the process; and as everything is energy this is a better vibration to have in the essence as well as being ethically and environmentally sensitive. Making essences is a fascinating experience and so often things happen in the process that’s part of the essences' teachings. In this case, as I was decanting it at the end of the day, two people asked me what I was I was doing. They were really curious and interested. As it turns out, this essence holds a vibration of childlike curiosity, fascination and wonder. It opens a person to being interested and engaged with the world. It increases the affinity and communication one has with the natural world and other people; and reconnects us to a deep love of learning. It’s fascinating that to even see this orchid, you have to be paying close attention. What a perfect antidote to boredom and disinterest.
