22.01.2022 ALEXANDRA JOINS SPEEDWAY AUSTRALIA A unique track with a long history and a bright future is the latest venue to join the ever-growing family of Speedway Austra...lia affiliated tracks. The Alexandra and District Speedway Club is just about to celebrate 50 years of racing on their big open raceway, which includes the option of a dogleg in turn two that skirts around a famous tree. Located 1 hour 20 minutes northeast of Melbourne’s outer suburbs, the club have recently upgraded their safety fence to Speedway Australia three star specifications and made a host of other improvements. And Club President Tim Miller thought the time was now right to make the next step in their evolution by committing to Speedway Australia and receiving the benefits that follow. The club is famous throughout Victoria for running their two biggest events of the year in winter, the 100-lapper in June and the 3-hour Enduro in August. Unfortunately this means they’ve been more affected than most by the COVID-19 pandemic, with these signature Sedan events unable to be held in 2020. They’ll be back bigger than ever in 2021 though, along with a full programme of events that is due to kick off on November 7, restrictions permitting. State titles feature at four of the eight meetings, along with Wingless Sprints on March 20. We extend a warm welcome to all of Alexandra Speedway's club members and supporters, and look forward to watching with interest as the venue continues to power into the future.

21.01.2022 Some important news from SSA

20.01.2022 The Alexandra & District Speedway Inc. Committee have made another tough decision to cancel our next two race meetings; the Titles in November and our club meeting in December 2020 due to the ongoing Covid restrictions. Our first meeting will now be our February meeting in 2021. On a positive side this will enable us to get very much needed track preparation planned and underway without the stress of time against us. ... We would like to thank all our members who have paid their membership so far for this season, this is helping the club tick over in idle mode. We have not set a date for the AGM yet as we are awaiting the next government announcement on October 19 in regards to restrictions easing. Our hope is that the announcements will allow us to get together in some form of up to 50 people with social distancing measures in a location. Even though our race meetings have been cancelled if restrictions ease enough we would like to hold a test and tune if we have enough interest at some stage. We don’t see this happening until late November or early December, but will keep you informed of all things Alex speedway related as time progresses.

13.01.2022 Below is our 'proposed' calendar for the 2020/21 Season. While we know that the likelihood of the November meeting going ahead is as likely as Squiggle entering a body building competition in Queensland, we still have it programmed, just in case. (so no need to comment that it isn't going to happen ) In saying that, if there are any associations that are interested in any of our dates, please contact the club on [email protected] or [email protected] and we can see what we can do.
