19.01.2022 Our Fowler Steam locomotive is running this Sunday 9th October from 10am to 4pm in Station St Alexandra. The Museum rooms will also be open, so we look forward to seeing lots of happy faces coming for a train ride.

18.01.2022 ATTM Fowler Steam loco update Our Fowler steam locomotive conducted hauling passengers over the Queens Birthday long weekend. Following its passenger duties, it was steamed up on Monday 12 June 2017 prior to entering its annual inspection program. The boiler is inspected annually by an qualified independent assessor. Prior to each inspection, the water is drained and this is best done while the boiler is hot with low steam pressure. Shown here is the boiler having a "blowdow...n" to empty it and it creates quite a sight to see. At 40psi pressure, the old girl took a good 10 minutes to blow off all the remaining pressure. Many hours of work will culminate in its inspection over the next two months. This time also enables important preventative and scheduled maintenance to be carried out by our dedicated team of volunteers. It is due to return to service in time for the Heritage Machinery Festival on 9/10 September 2017. In the meantime, our fleet of historic Kelly & Lewis diesels and Malcolm Moore locomotives will fill the role. We will keep all steam fans up to speed with the work and look forward to meeting visitors on the second and fourth Sundays at Alexandra.

18.01.2022 Get your copy and support your local museum. Purchase and postage package available, phone 0427 509 988.

17.01.2022 Thanks Wendy for sharing your great morning out with us!

17.01.2022 Some of our volunteers getting our Heritage Machinery set up for tomorrow. Don’t forget it’s our Heritage Machinery Festival this weekend. Trains running and museum open 10am-4pm tomorrow

16.01.2022 Some of our passengers on Sunday got an extra treat as our Fowler steam locomotive was steamed up in the morning. The boiler has to be inspected once a year by an independent assessor. It is due for its yearly inspection so the water has to be drained which is best done while the boiler is hot with low stean pressure. Shown here is the boiler having a "blowdown" to empty it and it creates quite a sight to see. Many hours of work after this has the boiler ready for inspection next weekend. We hope to share good news then. All this has been carried out by our dedicated team of volunteers. If you would like to join us please get in contact with us via our website or visit us on one of our open days. http://www.alexandratramway.org.au/contacts_and_membership.

16.01.2022 Thanks to all the fabulous volunteers who keep our NFP groups together. You are the lifeblood of our community.

13.01.2022 A view of Alexandra station in 1976 shortly before closure of the line. The Alexandra Timber Tramway & Museum was then called the Alexandra District Historical Society and was occupying the station and platform as can be seen by a number of exhibits.

10.01.2022 There's more than 10 reasons, but it is great to see the ATTM being recognised as a "must see" on your trip to Alexandra and surrounding regions.

04.01.2022 Our volunteers are hard at work this weekend doing maintenance on the track at the tramway. The tramway would not operate without the help of our fantastic volunteers. For volunteering opportunities or to become a member of the tramway please contact us via our contact information on our page.
